          to  say  mccree  wasn’t  used  to  being  picked  up  would  be  a  DRASTIC  understatement  .  he  was  foreign  to  the  concept  of  it  ,  &  had  TROUBLE  placing  the  last  time  anyone  had  succeeded  in  getting  his  full  200  pound  self  off  the  ground  .  nevertheless  ,  he  SMILED  when  he  was  placed  back  on  the  ground  ,  ruffling  mei’s  hair  in  an  older-brother  sorta  way  .

        despite  evidence  provided  to  the  contrary  ,  mccree  really  did  wish  to  stay  unnoticed  .  his  crimes  had  been  scrutinized  by  the  public  ,  a  bounty  placed  on  his  head  ,  &  a  target  firmly  planted  on  his  back  ,  all  the  more  reasons  why  jesse  wanted  nothing  more  than  to  lay  low  .  let  the  wind  blow  where  it  may  ,  see  where  the  winding  mountain  trails  lead  him  .  in  this  case  ,  inside  a  gas  station  at  one  am  in  order  to  get  something  to  keep  him  awake  during  one  of  his  cross-country  trips  .  but  fate  had  other  plans  than  letting  him  go  unnoticed  in  the  public’s  eyes  .

         the  words  ricocheted  as  neatly  as  a  bullet  around  the  room  ,  the  robber  making  sure  their  voice  was  heard  clearly  .  the  form  draped  in  black  moved  towards  the  cash  register  with  a  duffle  bag  ,  pistol  drawn  ,  while  mccree  looked  on  .  he  never  was  good  at  listening  to  directions  .  a  gloved  hand  was  in  complete  control  of  his  peacekeeper  in  seconds  ,  drawn  in  the  direction  of  the  criminal  .  but  tired  eyes  glanced  to  another  person  in  the  gas  station  seemingly  trying  to  help  out  ,  blackened  lungs  letting  out  a  sigh  .

       ❛  while  i  certainly  appreciate  the  help  ,  ma’m  ,  think  this  might  be  a  good  time  to  run  &  leave  the  savin’  ‘round  here  to  me  .  ❜
