NORTH.ALSO ALSO. i would like to mention that raphael would have a DEEP RESENTMENT TOWARDS REYES , though they work together. allow me to explain && give some spoilers... RAPHAEL’S FAMILY ENDS UP BEING KILLED IN THE WAR , and raph witnessed the whole thing. watched as his sisters, brother, and mother died before his eyes. now to go deeper, beyond reyes, raphael actually holds deep resentment, and hatred for OVERWATCH ITSELF . because as a young man of 18, and having such a traumatic thing happen, he can’t help but to think “why couldn’t overwatch save them when they saved so many other families?? why couldn’t they save MINE .” and it just... sinks into his soul. the question of why ends up forming itself into everything he could possibly feel negatively towards overwatch. because he felt they neglected his family, and LET THEM DIE . now. by knowing reyes was within overwatch at the time, in fact was a founder, that’s exactly why it’s there. he feels as though REYES FAILED to do exactly what overwatch preached. failed to be there to save at lease four other lives. failed at his very life and became thing THING (as raphael puts it). a reason why he lost EVERYTHING THAT HE HELD MOST PRECIOUS . raphael isn’t afraid to show such resentment either. he will narrow his eyes into a glare should reyes make his presence known. talk lowly to him (such things like “don’t you think about slowlying me down.” or “let’s hope you don’t fail this time.”) he has no fear as to how reyes will react. only feels that such treatment is justified.
