Ay what's this stuff with cryptid misto? I swear I've seen it around but like don't understand lol that's why I'm asking, also I've seen other "cryptids" be made of other cats so is it like a AU thing? Not visually though I haven't seen anything visually

Hi! It was an idea that really took hold in early 2021, basically that Misto is not a cat but some eldritch being in a shape of a cat, or alternativley that he is a cat with very eldritch being type powers and thus also looks and mannerisms, generally vibes and looks wise based on Timothy Scott Misto

The exact hcs varied from person to person but the general idea was the above, and just playing around with how the tribe reacts to him snd his relationship with tugger, also just playing with the idea of him being more creepy/creepy-cute as opposed to the more cute Misto that was all the rage at the time

Also one of the popular ideas for it was that Quaxo was his "normal" alter ego, either just him swittching his apperance or that there was some split personality thing going on

Alongside him some people also were coming up with similar hcs for Jemima, with the difference being that she's not an eldrith being herself but can interact with this type of stuff (very weird girl Jemima vibes)

If you look up "cryptid misto", on my blog or general on tumblr, stuff should come up, again most of it from 2021

As for second part of the question, yes, there was an idea for a cryptid tribe au but it was @bag-of-broadway-snacks 's idea, i think they had a whole tribe written out, idk but i remember they had ideas for Munk, Tugger, Skimble and M&R
