I understand that quantum one time pads, or some near relative, are being explored via spin states. I have no knowledge of the size of these devices, but the idea seems neat
If you’re talking about what I think you’re talking about, there’s technology for basically transmitting one-time pads in a provably secure way using quantum entanglement. There’s some interesting attacks on this, but they should be defeatable.
The problem with this approach is that it requires basically a hard connection that can transmit entangled photons. So it’s plausible for connecting, say, the White House to the Pentagon. And with enough determination, it could connect the White House to NORAD. But I don’t think you could plausibly extend that tech to connecting me to Amazon.
