Pumping gas....

     .....way out to sea....

          .....on the far side of the planet from home....

EAST CHINA SEA (November 7, 2020) -- Cryptologic Technician (Technical) Seaman Jacob Fischer, USN, (top) and Fire Controlman 3rd Class Kyle Soriano, USN, heave a line aboard United States Navy guided-missile cruiser USS Shiloh (CG 67) during a replenishment-at-sea (UNREP) with Military Sealift Command dry cargo and ammunition ship USNS Charles Drew (T-AKE 10).

A complex evolution like a refueling/resupplying at sea requires an almost all-hands effort beyond just the deck crew. From necessary raw manpower, to stowing supplies below decks, to safety protocols....it takes a huge team effort.

As if in another world….

PERSIAN GULF (October 16, 2020) -- United States Navy nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68) sails into the sunrise....

     ....on the other side of the world from home....

     ....but as if in another world all together.

The supercarrier, her air wing of dozens of fighter jets and logistics aircraft, and her 6,000 crew members, along with her Ticonderoga-class cruiser and Arleigh Burke-class destroyer escorts, are on a lengthy scheduled deployment to the region....

     ....protecting critical commercial maritime chokepoints....

     ....providing a regional security umbrella....

     ....and keeping a wary eye on a very unpredictable and often bellicose Islamic Republic of Iran.

The Nimitz carrier strike group (aircraft carrier and escorting ships) has been gone from home at Naval Base Kitsap nuclear carrier and submarine facility (third-largest Navy base in the U.S.) in Washington State since early June.

                 Home, on the other side of the world -- near Seattle

 With a little luck, they could be home towards the end of the year.                                         _______________________

This happened on Facebook and it being Facebook, it spurred a troll who completely misunderstood the phrase. He took it to mean the United States attempting nation building.

Waitt Outdoor LLC President Michael Delich Brings Specialist Training to Job

Electronics specialist Michael Delich collected and evaluated data as it related to his specialist security clearance in the United States Navy. These highly trained specialists apply complex knowledge of doctrine and procedures taken from U.S. Navy instructions and tactical publications, and also maintain the space and the maintenance of vital equipment.

The protocols and procedures of United States Navy electronic warfare are covered by such specialists as the cryptologic technician who may be on shore or on board ship, or the navel aircrewman who is stationed aboard reconnaissance aircraft. Michael Delich, the President of Waitt Outdoor LLC in Omaha, Nebraska served honorably in the U.S. Navy from 1971 to 1975 as an electronics specialist. Delich was trained to provide technical information and assistance as it pertained to anti-surface warfare, anti-air warfare, anti-submarine warfare, amphibious warfare, mine warfare, naval gunfire support, search and rescue operations, radar and dead reckoning navigation, and overt intelligence gathering and transmittal. Delich worked with tracking radars, the latest in computerized detection positioning technologies, and maintained a tactical image of seas in proximity and the traffic thereon. Target plotting data was also part of the expertise of Delich, who provided up to the minute command information from target tracking instrumentation.

Michael Delich served in the U.S. Navy from 1971 to 1975, working in the one of the most stressful and anxious jobs aboard ship: an operations specialist in the ship’s command center. Delich learned to think quickly, multi task by accessing a wealth of knowledge of tactical and procedural information and choices, and decisively act with accurate calculations and recommendations.
