only getting an 1hr1/2 of sleep prior to this trip was worth it.

i wanted to catch a pretty sunrise before the (supposed) snow came.. wow did this work out in my favor... we missed the true sunrise but i much prefer the orange light than the pink.

this was a path leading to some public fishing piers, and i only passed one car (and they'd left before me).. felt real nice to have that kind of privacy with him. i struggle to take public photos, especially of/with him, but this was really great. almost the whole time i was snapping photos of him. after i got cold, i just sat with him and talked (okay, and maybe cried some lol)

some people might say: driving all of route 66 is a waste of money/gas/miles/time. okay well fuck you! drive wherever the hell i wanna with my car.. he deserves all the sites and views as much as me. a car with high mileage is a car well loved, don’t forget that.

it’s kinda weird knowing and loving you car, but how rarely you get to watch or hear it move.

like… i’m always in the car. i’m always driving it. i don’t get to hear it turn over undistorted/behind a window… i don’t get to see how the lights look from on-coming traffic, or what the lamps look like lit. i don’t get to watch the tires spin, and it take off. I don’t get to watch smoke trail out of the exhaust, or watch how rain droplets fly off. i don’t get to watch the antenna bob, i don’t get to watch it bounce along bumps.

so on today’s episode of “doing everything BUT what i need to (an essay due in 12 hrs)”

Almost crash taking an unfamiliar turn/road too fast

Get chased down by a scary, lifted, speeding truck

pick up a stray cat from my school parking lot

my baby is back !!! treat him to gas (if he wasn’t filled already but my mom hates using the pump) and think imma go on a sunrise trip with him :3

Minnow hit 80,000 miles while we made a quick trip to Shenandoah National Park. Didn’t get a ceremonious photo of it changing (was driving in DC traffic lol), and I didn’t get a photo of me hugging him for it either (I was on a time crunch, and let me tell yall I lost bad). All the bad, and getting chewed out by family for the spontaneous trip aside, glad I did it and enjoyed it. Will need to return. Sure other seasons might be prettier but I like the snow and how quiet it is (also no bears lmao)!
