me??? watching justice league: gods and monsters at midnight??? and loving the hell out of it???
honestly, I wished it were longer. it was a solid movie!! the AU justice league is awesome, they each had an equal-ish chunk of the story, they all had character arcs!! that made sense!! did wish they spent more time on the ending though, bc I could see where they were going, but they didn’t quite have enough justification for what happens towards the end.
writer thoughts aside... kirk. baby. baby boy. he didn’t deserve this. (yeah, I was already a fan of Man-Bat from reading JL Dark, what about it?) I have a soft spot for characters who never wanted to be in their situation and feels guilt over what they do/did, and kirk fits that to a tee. and superman/hernan guerra. an immigrant as superman? really hammering home the parallels, and I like it. I like how he’s heroic at heart like our superman, but he didn’t grow up in all-american all-white smallville, so obviously he has a different view of humanity. and, oh man, bekka. Batman’s still from gotham, superman’s still from krypton, but Bruce Timm just threw Themyscira out the window. nope, she’s a New God from Apokolips who betrayed and was betrayed, and fed up with it, fled to Earth. the prequel comics explain more about why she is now more in line with the JL’s temperaments, but she originally just,,, she just wanted to be peaceful and help.
anyways, yeah, tl;dr They All Deserved Better, but not in a bad way, in a good angsty storytelling way
My boyfriend just called Mikey a twink I-

I'm completely normal and well adjusted which is why when I discovered the true joy of The Journey to the West my immediate thought was "It would be so sick if there was a crossover of this with Devil Venerable Also Wants to Know" and now I've realized the only way to do that is to make it myself.
The concept itself arose because I'm really, really fond of the way that DVAWTK handles cultivation and the worldbuilding surrounding heaven and cultivators and demons and the like; and I feel like it would be so, so fascinating to intersect the two worlds post-canon. Wenren E and Sun WuKong interacting would be so fun (celestial monkey and guy who has absorbed primordial chaos??? so fun). I've had this thought about other wuxia and specifically xianxia I've read, mind you, but a lot of them are explicitly not the same gods as JTTW- Like, TGCF would be fun too, but unfortunately trying to figure THAT out would be a BEAST of an AU lmaoooo
So uh.
After exams I will be reading the entirety of journey to the west and we'll see what happens to my creative process immediately after and if anything actually comes of this <- has never finished a fanfic ever and hasn't written one since 2020
doin art fight this year :) First time I've ever made one of these cards, actually. It's fun!
I went to a con recently... here is my haul...
There's so much Sunday because even though I went in wanting Wanderer and Akechi merch, the con was pretty small, so there was one singular print for Akechi (that I didn't end up getting) and there was exactly two pieces of wanderer merch in the entire place (pictured here). I do like Sunday, though, so I'm happy with my purchases :)
I saw this Pokemon fic where the main character was blind and had a talking dog pokemon or something as their guide pokemon. It broke my immersion a bit- like, I get the iconography of a service dog, but making a dog pokemon learn human speech is... strange, but mainly it just made me think that Psychic types are the underrated Peak of potential Guide Pokemon.
Like, take Solosis for example. Canonically can communicate with its trainer via telepathy, according to its dex entry. That can be trained into so many potential Service Pokemon roles! Can't see? Telepathically describes things for you, leads you around, Boom. Can't hear? Telepathy isn't a sound, so the pokemon could theoretically be your Mental Live Captioning. Can't speak? Telepathy. It's so good! Even some physical disabilities would probably be aided by having a strong, well-trained Psychic type.
I feel like I don't see nearly enough of this. I need to write my own. I have fun ideas for this, now.
