It was uncommon to see a troll entering the throne room while the sun was not fully set. The throne room, along with a good portion of the other windows in the castle of course, had been refitted with specially ordered stained glass windows to protect those who were harmed by sunlight. The enchantment offered better protection and also allowed the scenes depicted on the glass to be changed with a spell. Gold hues scanned the large kiltar that stood before her. Deep red stone was contrasted starkly by four bone colored antlers crowning head, and fiery crystals studded along their body reminded her of sunstone. Four glowing yellow eyes met her own, and something felt... off. Like she wasn't getting the whole picture. Still, it would be impolite to speak of such a thing to a complete stranger, so for now she would not touch upon it.

Instead, a small gesture and mental command caused the scene on the windows directly behind her to swirl and change, going from a scene of the seaside at sunset to one that looked remarkably like the view of the heartstone in Kiltarheim. She figured this would be a more favorable scene for the one before her, and she'd been to the Heim just enough to remember how things looked quite clearly.

"You are not the first troll to tell me that." Queen Hayes finally said, a smile tugging at the corner of her lips. "In fact, most of the leaders I have approached these last few years have said much the same. The Leodarin especially."

It was Hope's birthday. Therefore, she would get a few gifts from the trolls she knew, all brought in by one particular changeling. She can read body language though when she finally locates the youth so she decides to take things slow.

It may be a startling to Hope when an orange blanket with a collection of golden stars makes gentle contact with shoulders, as well as confusing when a small box is set in front of feet and presence settles at her side. Alex'd let her find the edible treats as well as a crystalline hair clip later after she pulled Hope into a half hug. [ @crystal-grotto ]

It was startling for Hope, so distracted that she'd failed to notice the approach of the changeling. Before she could even say anything she was pulled into the other's embrace. For a second she was stock still, and then she leaned into it, arms wrapping around Alex fully to return the hug.

"Thanks, Alex." She says, voice muffled beneath fabrics.

She'll eat the treats and admire the clip later. For now she's happy just to hug someone instead of dwelling on old memories.

Alex had gotten wind of the event due to happen in this town. As she personally only had two Pokémon of her own - Elliot, her zorua (who was settled at her side in a illusionary electrike form) and her flygon tucked away in pokeball on hip - she figured it was finally time to welcome another to her team if they were willing.

Soon the female trainer would be poking head into the adoption center, seeing whereabouts to go. [ @crystal-grotto ]

Pokemon Shelter Adoption Event!

"Looks like you've got experience with Dragon Types. I think I know who would be a good fit for you!" Hope chirped as she looked over the forms the other had filled out. "Stay right here for a moment."

With swift steps she disappeared inside and shared a brief word with the shelter manager. A moment later she stepped back out with a Nest Ball in hand. Dragon Types weren't allowed out in the main adoption area today, to prevent inexperienced trainers getting in over their head. Instead, if one of the volunteers found someone who they believed could handle one, they were to discuss things with the manager directly for approval.

Returning to the other Trainer, Hope pressed the button on the ball and let the Pokemon within out. With a flash of light, suddenly there was a Cyclizar standing between them, looking around and tucking its tail close to its body.

"This Cyclizar was surrendered to the shelter by a younger trainer who didn't know how to properly care for it. She's very gentle, but has some self-esteem issues because of the previous trainer. You can change their nickname if you want, but the original trainer named her Moonshadow."

Semi-Plotted - Jim had an Idea and now it's Hope's problem.

"I hate this already." The teen grumbled.

Hope emerged from the Lake home's bathroom looking almost like a completely different person. In place of Trollish garb she wore slightly baggy denim jeans, a purple shirt with some logo from a band she didn't even know existed, and a plain grey jacket. All of these had been rather hastily grabbed from a thrift shop by the Trollhunter and his companion, and presented to Hope with the promise of showing her how "cool" human life could be. She did not have high expectations for this outing, but she'd been bribed with the spiciest peppers they could get their hands on, so she'd decided to at least humor them. The peppers, along with her trollish clothing, were now nestled in an old backpack that had been sitting in a closet for goodness knows how long, now hanging from her shoulders. The only things that remained of her previous attire were her mask and a distinct lack of shoes.

"So. Remind me where exactly we're going that I need to be dressed like this?"

"You're not avoiding this today, Trollhunter!" Hope yelled.

Hope had the initiative already, and it would take Jim a second to reach his own full speed. Before he could though, Hope had caught up. With one swift motion her staff was drawn, extended, and then used to trip the boy up. The other option would have been full-on tackling him to the ground. The Trollhunter was, in his friend Tobias' own words, a wuss. Hope intended to fix that. Jim had been avoiding the last few 'lessons', and she was already fed up with it. It was time for him to train, dammit!

"You are going to learn how to defend yourself when you're unarmed. Now come on, we're going to the Forge." She huffed, extending a hand out to help Jim back to his feet.
