I just found out it's 70th anniversary of @pearl_drums. here's a little annoying essay about my history with them. I've been playing their drums and hardware my entire life. in years tastes and playability change and therefore instruments change. I would play anything I could get my hands on, I was a poor aspiring drummer who would always borrow equipment and stuff but would always come back to #pearldrums . the first time I heard real pearl kitwhen I was about 11-12. I saw a used red sparkle kit at the store and wanted to try it out but since the store was small I could only check the floor and rack toms. they sounded very deep and colorful even with used pinstripes on them, I'm pretty sure it was #export kit since it was the most popular series back then. many years later I would buy my first ever kit, which was a pretty beat up piece of sh-t frankenstein drum set based on 80s made pearl export with ludwig lugs and no bottom rims. again that was the deepest and colorful sound I ever heard (and trust me I'm a drum nerd and check out anything out there, all the time). my feet are pretty light and that's why I use single chain pedals. the first pedal that I felt that's very "relevant" to my feet was a stock pearl pedal from early 90s. again, I would try any kind of pedals but only pearl pedals I can play without any additional adjustments, right from the box. my current pedal is demonator and powershifter is my practice one. I bought powershifter double pedal when I moved to NYC 8 yrs ago and have never had any issues with it. it's still plays like I bought it the first time, and it's not even high end model! I recently bought their classic #crystalbeat kit as soon as I found out they re-launched it last year. I've already spoke few times to sales reps from TN and they gave me warm welcome to their factory. i don't think there's anything else I can add to it, except that @pearl_drums are really the best reason to play drums 😉. happy anniversary guys and wish you all the best! hope you'll bring back ultracast series with 13x3.5 snare! 😋
