**content warning: death/murder discussion** Apparently someone was murdered yesterday. The local Old Folks were all talking about it, and I'm really perplexed (and somewhat disturbed) by how casually and nonchalantly the discussion went. Like, this was someone they all knew pretty well and described as a "buddy," yet his murder was treated as something interesting to talk about? Does getting old just make people insensitive about death? I'm genuinely concerned. Also, it was apparently the victim's girlfriend who shot him in the face and killed him, and that seems like a really grisly detail that you'd normally want left out if you're finding out your friend died, but apparently none of these people were bothered by it. I'm sure they're sad inside, but it's just weird to me how they don't show it.
