ah, growl. beloved by many and the attitude of someone who shouldn't be.
growl finds it hard to easily show affection to others in a different way than velvet. while velvet is a lot more shy, growl is just... stiff. he's never had a relationship before that worked.
he'll tense up if you get near, and watch you warily, but it's nothing against you- he's just not used to it, and finds it hard to relax in general, really.
you'll be able to get him to relax with some time, though! eventually, he'll find himself relaxing more and more around you, and seeking you out more...
being around growl means you become well-acquainted with the mechanical beasts that work with the circus- especially saber, growl's right hand!
growl might even ask you to help him out with keeping them calm while he does repairs, if they like you that much... (and they do!) so you'll see saber coming by to pick you up often!
bonding activities aren't something growl is... the best at, to put it lightly. they'll be up to you, and he may not participate all that much in them... but if you ask, he tries to. he just says he likes watching you do it more.
also, growl's body temperature is a little lower than normal... which means he's wonderful for cuddling in the hot months. (and in the colder months, you can snuggle under a blanket, though he may comment if anyone catches you two he is leaving immediately-)
