Managed to sequester away enough stress-free free-time and creative OOMPH to do rough concept doodles for some extra-dimensional beings in Myriaverses. These particular friends are similar to Seraphim, sporting six wings, tons of SCARY EYE(markings???)S, halos of harnessed energy, and “afterimages” of their faces and occasionally other body parts from adjacent points in their timeline! They’re the descendants of some ascended zalcoa.
Myriaverses mechanics revolve around known science and theoretical physics, so when you get “gods”, they’re not generally all-knowing beings in the traditional religious sense. Gods in this universe are beings who are able to perceive and interact with either space-time itself or the ambient aether/quantum vacuum as part of their biology without supplementary technology.
“Mortals” (beings who can’t do these things inherently) can occasionally become gods if altered to have or be made aware of the appropriate anatomy. Sadly, mortals directly exposed to these forces can also experience fatal sensory overload and die on the spot or soon afterwards; this is why new ascendees aren’t common. The best chances of a mortal surviving ascension is gradual, low-level exposure.
The way a new god’s abilities express heavily depends on training, how they were “uplifted”, and inheritance in the case of gods born to god parents. Almost all gods have an affinity for either space-time or aether related skills, meaning they can learn one type more easily than the other. This corresponds with the first ability they developed.
I’ll probably talk more about this kind of thing in future posts when I get to them, where I can apply all this info to specific people. <3
