Closing Statement;

After almost 8 months of amazing plot, exciting events, and developing characters and stories, Crystathereum is closing. It’s been an incredible journey with all of the members still with us or those who have come and gone, and we thank every single person involved in any aspect of CT for making it as dear to our hearts as it has been. Thank you all!

While this group is closing, we encourage those interested to continue the universe! Feel free to continue the plot amongst yourselves should you like, and have fun! We hope that our group closing can only count as yet another beginning for our lovely friends and family that we’ve made.

April Newsletter & Group Updates

Hi everyone!

Apologies for the lateness of this newsletter. The end of March was pretty hectic for all of us, especially with midterms and the like plaguing our fair mods. We hope that all of you in school did well on your tests, both past and soon-to-come, too!

Anyway, the mods had a huge meeting a few weeks ago regarding the Crystathereum group plot progress and group mechanics. We have been slowly updating the “How It Works” and “Rules” pages as a result, and this is our formal announcement of doing so.

Below are what we’re changing and updating:

No More Quests: Quests have been removed from the group and will be replaced instead by Weekly Missions. Every Sunday (starting  4/12/15) a Weekly Mission post will go up on the main blog, giving general objectives to each of the three factions. These objectives will help to give you more direction in threading with others throughout the week and help encourage activity to those who may be floundering a bit for what to do. 

The Energy Crisis: The prelude to April’s Event will start to take shape in the upcoming two weeks and heavily re-focus the energy crisis that the world faces. Certain characters may be appointed temporary positions of power by their Leaders, and if they prove reliable, those positions may become permanent. (Note: These are in-character positions, no one is going to suddenly become a mod for sake of plot progression.)

Hiatus Time Limit: You are now limited to request up to 1 month hiatus at a time. After a month has passed, you must check in with the main blog to update your status as either returning, or remaining on hiatus. You may extend your 1-month hiatus twice (a max of a 3 month hiatus) before we respectfully remove you from the group. (Your # of hiatuses you take are not limited, just the length of time)

Second Muse Requirement: Upon joining the group, you must be active for 30 days before we allow you to apply for a second muse within the group.

Joining Activity Requirement: Upon joining the group, you must post a CT-related thread / open / whatever by the next Activity check. Otherwise you will be removed.

Memories, Quartier Powers, and Crystal Shards: These sections in the How It Works page have been strongly elaborated upon and we ask that you read over them ASAP.

Application Updates: Applying for Crystathereum now requires a brief overview of how your character came to Asteros, and provides a basic writing sample regarding the quality we expect from our members.

OOC Tag Rule: From now on, all members must be sure to tag their Out of Character posts with an OOC tag of their choice. This is to ensure that other members that wish to keep their dash RP-related things only can blacklist OOC tags to keep their dashboard comfortable for them!

A video will be debuting soon as a “Welcome To The Group” for new/prospective members. Look forward to sharing that with your friends in case they’re interested!

Last but not least, we’d like to commend our two Members Of The Month: Maria and Eira! You two automatically get a bonus 1000 gil in your bank accounts for being so active last month! Everyone be sure to congratulate them!

Being active is only the first step to keeping your spot on the master list. Group activity is what drives the plot, so we need your help to keep everything going. Please let us know if you need a break, and submit an official hiatus form, so that we can make it official on our records that you will not be posting for a while.

It's important for everyone to keep up with the current happenings in the plot, inside and outside of their town! To see what's going on recently, check The Story So Far!

Don't forget to send in your current plot happenings to this blog! If something noteworthy happens in your thread, please submit a description of what happened to this blog! It's always good to try to include the link of the reply as well!

❝ You look familiar...

Have you thought about your character's memories now that they're in the world of the Crystathereum? Well, you've got a few options!

1: Your character retains the memories themselves, but the faces included in those memories is blurred or removed entirely -- so if Zidane sees Garnet, he may not recognize her, but boy does she remind him of that one girl that he can't quite remember... This way your character doesn't lose any canon development (or development that has happened in the time you've RPed them) but they can have the extra plot dimension of trying to regain memories.

In explanation, this is caused by the Crystals themselves: in part to give everyone something to strive for even if it is just to regain their memories and go back home; and the other part is caused by the Crystals' lack of power. As the Crystals get more restored, their memories will fill in -- though some believe that the Crystals are the ones who messed up their memories in the first place and that getting rid of them will get their memories back.

2: If you've created (or want to create) a CT Verse for your character (as in, they've been in the Crystathereum world their whole life), this might be more up your alley. The Crystals, in some people, rearranged and created new memories -- in this way, your character has memories of their life in this world even if it didn't actually happen. Do their memories change as the plot progresses? What could this mean for your character?

3: You could always go the Dissidia route and wipe your character's memory entirely!

Whichever fits best for your muse, go ahead and pick it! Any one of them have interesting ways to influence the greater and smaller plots. This information will be added to the Storyline page. Thank you all for reading! Please like this post to show that you have seen it!
