There have been a good many people coming to us who have had some trouble understanding the 'questing' element of the plot. && I realize that we rebels ( who are a bit of a mixed-ideal faction with NO CLEAR, SET STEPS TO TAKE TOWARD OUR GOAL AT THE MOMENT ) might have a hard time finding direction. So here are a few nifty guidelines to help y'all along--
The quest objectives are listed at the bottom of the quest -- as long as you meet the objectives, you are free to complete the quest however you want. What does this mean? You can write a drabble, interact with an/other character/s, or even simply post a thread returning to the questgiver with the items desired/goal completed.
You are completely free to speculate on quests as long as your responses are reasonable ( I.G. for my 'speak to a Quartier' quest, the Quartier would not have commented on the Gods' uselessness, but there are some generic lines that you may have returned to Eris with ).
Even then, even had your character returned to Eris with unbelievable / out of character information from the Quartier, that's still a plot opportunity! THEY LIED! They didn't do what she asked, and they will be reprimanded. There are such things as lazy heroes. Or perhaps your character was under the weather or for some reason couldn't complete the quest in a reasonable amount of time / before the rebels were due to move camp. The possibilities are limitless, and all up to you.
If your partner becomes busy or the thread grows stale / is dropped, you may discuss events OOC with them ( or with the questgiver ) and return to questgiver with this information. That said, quests are generally designed to promote character interaction and relationship building ( ESPECIALLY right now, with our plot && group so young and fresh ), so please don't opt to skip the thread altogether every time!
Remember that your character is free to decline the quest IN CHARACTER AND TO YOUR LEADER'S FACE!! Disagree with them! Challenge them! Disrespect them! Do the polar opposite of what they say! Eris and Demi are in positions of authority, but they are not omniscient; for someone to call either of them out on their flaws would be a SERIOUSLY FUN PLOT TBH LET'S DO IT.
Remember that REBELS MOVE. WE'RE ALL OVER THE DANG PLACE. As a rebel you can thread with any person in any city without worrying if it's 'true to plot': you see an open that looks fun -- GO FOR IT. DO IT. GET ALL UP IN THAT SUCKER AND BATHE IN PLOTTY GOODNESS.
Don't be afraid to plot and thread with multiple people! Multi-chara plots are the BEST THING ahkladg and some of the absolute best development comes out of them fo srs. Get together and message people about it -- get out of your comfort zone a little and play with some new people! We're all friendly here!
LASTLY, AND MAYBE MOST IMPORTANTLY: If you have questions -- if your character has questions -- ask them!! That's what we ( as mods ), and they ( as leaders ) are there for ! That's our collective job! You can ask IC or OOC!
