Xhorhas kids doodle! They’re talking about snacks in the library...
This episode should be called "Out of the Frying Pan" so the next episode can be "Into the Fire"
If you haven’t watched this, you absolutely must - what a fantastic collection of transient luminous events! It’s Pecos Hank (of course), one of the guys that discovered a new kind of TLE recently (the GHOST), and there are so many amazing red sprite displays here, it’s so goddamn cool
From my archive: early testing (read: shenanigans) with the vacuum tube Tesla coil. Single 811A tube build, and a relatively simple circuit, the worst part of it was tuning.
Not shown: that time I accidentally touched the plate on top, it was definitely... an... experience...
As an avid builder of big stupid things this is probably the biggest, stupidest, thingiest thing I’ve ever worked on. It’s a massive spark gap Tesla coil, and I haven’t been able to try running the whole thing 1) because it’s a bit unsafe to do alone; 2) there’s still things that need to be reinforced and fixed; 3) I’m mildly scared of it. Seriously, I tested the power supply alone and when I turned it on, the lights in my house started flashing. Anyways, since it’s still a current-in-progress project, I have a ton more photos of the build and all, including all our very sketchy choices.
What do you call it when you go around bringing back dead art...anyways here’s a star spawn seer doodle from way back when, 2/10 not creepy enough
