@caimkairos (plotted starter)
Recently, Connla’s had the oddest feeling. Like something’s been watching him from afar at nearly every hour. Call him paranoid, but it’s been making it hard to sleep at night. There’s nobody who should have it out for him, he’s not anybody special, but the feeling persists.
So when someone finally approaches him in the hallway, a younger teen, it’s a bit of a relief. Still, the other’s question puzzles him. ‘Why are you so big,’ he asked Connla. If it was a question of ‘how’ Connla might actually have a decent answer, but why?
“...Exercise?” Connla answers, finally. There’s something odd about the other boy he can’t quite pin down, more than the usual feeling of familiarity that he gets from other Celtic servants. Something about his mannerisms is like Connla’s mother, maybe. “Who’re you?” he asks, trying to keep suspicion out of his voice. It’s probably nothing; just an overactive imagination.
@caemthe (plotted starter)
Connla can’t say he know what to make of Chaldea. It’s work to do, and he can focus on that, but being around so many other servants is an odd feeling. Though he can’t remember any particular Grail War, something about being side by side with so many other “heroes” makes the hairs on the back of his neck stand up. Frankly speaking, he doesn’t feel any innate kinship with them. He doesn’t have any great deeds or adventures to brag of, at least on the scale of most of these figures.
So he decides to make himself scarce, at least until he’s got his bearings here. Connla walks the perimeter of the building, trying to note all the little quirks of this era. He’s probably walked this floor twice when he hears an oddly familiar voice, though it’s clear that whoever this is isn’t speaking to Connla. His head whips around to catch a glimpse of Cu Chulainn, and Connla feels like he’s glued to the floor, though he knows it’s been barely three seconds. Before he can think clearly, his spear is in his hands and then at Cu Chulainn’s throat.
“Move and you’re dead,” Connla growls. He knows that his father can still most certainly come at him for real before he can react, but Connla doesn’t remove the spear. “Give me a good reason why I shouldn’t kill you right here.” There’s pain in Connla’s voice at that- even if the other is the reason for all of his suffering in life, he can’t forget the old daydreams he used to have.
@inkingpainter (starter call)
Connla is faithful to his training here at Chaldea here, if nothing else. He has a lot of free time that he doesn’t really know what to do with, now that there’s no real looming deadline and no outside time. So he does a lot of drills in the Lancer gym, getting deep into flow. Unfortunately, when he hears something clatter behind him, he’s too into and hasn’t realized anyone else is in the room.
“Who’s there?!” the edgeless training staff is pointed at the stranger’s throat before Connla can think better of it. There’s a pause, and then Connla drops the staff entirely. “...Sorry. I’m just on edge, I guess.”
@caimkairos i have made an explanation for the connlae
if you scoop it all out without leaving a drop, i’ll hide it in the furthest corner of the cupboards the night will grow just a bit longer, as much as someone’s words do
“why not close your eyes? i don’t want to watch anymore,” ...there’s no way i can just say that
@caimkairos replied:
-muffled crying noises- "I- isn' tha the guy the Catholics say d- dad met and got buddy with-"
Connla opens his mouth to respond. And then closes it. And then opens it again.
“DAD, YOU KNOW THAT STORY ABOUT THE CATHOLICS-”
His dad is dead? ...Is that allowed?
