Went to a unique sort-of punk rock karaoke show, CTGB, in Fairfield, CT last night. Killer house band backing a variety of regional punk acts (The Zambonis), plus guests like Chris & Tina from Talking Heads/Tom Tom Club (second photo) and Mates of States performing with their teenaged daughters (third photo). Tina kindly signed my Japanese edition of the Stop Making Sense soundtrack, too. It was an amazing house band, closing out with an epic rendition of “Marquee Moon”—hoping someone puts it up on YouTube. It was a really cool yet sweet night of a region’s creative community coming together for a hootenanny of sorts — wish we had something like this on Long Island.
