✨ CTJL Ocala, 2024 ✨
With a few last-minute entries I managed to enter my three Show Jumping stars in the CTJL Ocala-show over on @equialitysims!! I'm always so excited for the CTJL shows, and with this almost in the 'backyard' from where Mia and the horses lives, it was obvious that they had to enter! I'm actually pretty happy with the entries, especially since it has been more than 2,5 months between the entry with Olive and Candlelight, and the ones of Mia and Ballerine and Sibelius, which also means that I haven't had my game up and running in 2,5 months due to my game not working and some things in my personal life taking up most of my free time! But! I'm happy! And that's what's most important ❤️ Thank you so much to Liz for hosting the show, and also a massive thank you to Liz, Katrin and Gemma/Maddie as breeders of my horses! I hope I do them justice and that I contribute to make you proud to be their breeders! 🤍✨ @calveroterranorasj, @katrinbergling, @plotsandplumbobs, @madiwx

Manon coughed and groaned as her back throbbed slightly, she could hear Akin's hooves stomping on the ground as those around her tried to calm him down, to no avail. For a few seconds she admired the blue sky, feeling a heavy weight keeping her from getting up. Hearing her stallion blowing like a dragon to show his stress, the young Frenchwoman got up slowly, not without difficulty, dusting herself off while carrying a grimace that she hid when the public could see her face. She had never had this feeling of being on the ground, in the middle of a big competition arena while hundreds of spectators were staring at her. Some were worried, others were indifferent, and others were reassured to see the young Frenchwoman standing after being thrown by her horse. While whistling to call her stallion, this one ended up realizing that in his panic, he had totally forgotten his rider on the ground and returned to her, still as stressed. Manon walked slowly towards him with a smile twisted by pain, holding out her hand as she used to do during many training. She gently took the reins, caressing his forehead and the tip of his nose while whispering soft words to relax him before guiding him out of this big arena that scares him, limping and with his head down as the tears came. The throat tied, she did not dare to raise her head towards the people who were waiting for the next participant to leave, feeling ashamed. It was her first international competition and here she was, all dusty and with a horse that was unsettled but yet so caring.
CTJL Ocala 2024 part 2 - 1.6m class
CTJL STOCKHOLM (Iris Hammel – Eilwen VX) She had been passing by the Olympic Stadion arena every day on her way to the stable for her riding classes after school, during her entire adolescence. She had been fantasizing about riding here ever since she was a little girl; to enter the hallmark with all the other giants such as Peder, Malin, Henrik, and Rolf-Göran. During the entire show season, this was by far the most nervous she’d ever been. The stakes were high, competing on her own soil this time, while simultaneously fighting to stay at the top of the leaderboard. There were a lot of people she wanted to make proud; her parents, her sister Elina who had come to watch her compete for the first time ever since she stepped away from the equestrian world many years ago, her kind and empathic trainer, and the entire Swedish nation, of course. So sure, she wanted to leave a mark on an arena as historical as this one, but she had never expected that mark to be tomorrow’s headlines reading: ”Swedish Rider Finishes Clear Round Without Bridle!”

Sometimes accidents happen and this time it was a bridle not properly fastened. They were approaching the final combination when Lillan’s bridle came undone, bobbing to the left and right as Iris tried to keep the grey mare’s head as still as possible so she wouldn’t get smacked in the face with both bridle and earnet. In a millisecond, Iris decided to impulsively try to finish the course anyway as the last two fences came rushing up at an ungodly speed and Lillan, bless her, was such a good and loyal horse who, through the course of this show season, had started to trust Iris enough to keep going, bit still in place, to finish the course. Knowing what a sensitive horse she was, this show had proven to test her horse’s loyalty towards her, and even though Iris completely humiliated herself (again!) at a big competition, she couldn’t help but feel incredibly grateful to having been granted a horse with such a big heart and courage as her little grey whirlwind. With all the odds against them, they still managed to clear the round, bridle or not.

We've got another win for the pair! Even though the first round didn't go as expected, they still managed to clear themselves for the final round and go home with another ribbon to add to Lillan's successful career. They've now taken the lead in the leaderboard and will be making sure to properly fasten any loose bridles for the upcoming finals ...
CTJL Stockholm, finally!
