#oldmanrunning #CapeTownMarathon - I am so grateful! My first ever 42.2km! My actual time is 5h12. Thanks to my friend @etiennepiek who trained me, and ran with me from start to finish! This race is dedicated to all of the students and staff of the Faculty of Theology, Stellenbosch University. In particular Prof Mary-Anne Plaatjies van Huffel who passed away in May 2020, Prof @reggienel (happy birthday Captain), and baby Lize Havenga who was born to my friends and colleague @marnushavenga and @angeliquehavenga a week ago. Old shirt, old shoes, old socks, old shorts, #oldmanrunning (nothing new for race day!) Tomorrow I will run my first ever full marathon, the Cape Town marathon. It is 42.2km of beauty in and around Africa’s gem, Cape Town!
