Basically, had an idea based on the Oni sometimes being used as a good luck charm to ward off evil. Maybe due to the merge, Lloyd finds himself in a partial oni state(how Garmadon normally looks) and being bonded to the monastery. While he's inside, the monastery can be sealed off from outsiders unless he gives permission. If he wanders out, however, the seal is broken, he'll transform to a full oni, and he can turn more disoriented over time until he heads back. So, afraid of letting his oni form out, he stays by himself, sometimes trying to find ways to reach others for help or gain info, but only leaving very briefly. He's kinda hoping the others will find him eventually, though he's not even sure if he's ready to see them again(he wasn't)
Meanwhile, Arin and Sora end up finding the monastery and Lloyd in the process, but he wouldn't be recognized right away. He allows them to take shelter at the monastery, and happy to have a new friend, the two kiddos sometimes go out to do errands for him. He doesn't tell them about his identity or ask them for help cuz he's ashamed, but eventually the two find out. They end up wanting to not only train to be ninja, but also want to help him find the others. Lloyd is hesitant, less happy to be a master, but he trains them in secret and gives them quests, telling them to keep his identity a secret from the public.
He kinda hates this very hands off approach, and thinks Arin and Sora are too young to have to do so much on their own, but Lloyds still afraid he'll lose himself if he ventures out to help them. He can at least give them a safe space to train and later on, has better control of the portals for fast travel.
I feel like this idea can have a lot of potential, w the kids finding the other ninja and not knowing if they should tell them about Lloyd, Lloyd being afraid of being seen, and maybe even hiding within the monastery with the other ninja living there at some point lol. Eventually though, they'd figure it out, and ofc not be as ashamed as much as they are worried he's isolating himself.
You can also have some drama where Lloyd is forced to leave the temple to save the kids, having to leave a lot longer and be at risk. Maybe the villains can try to find some sort of loophole they'd need to do to infiltrate the monastery despite Lloyd's influence(like brainwashing him, pretending to be good to get the keys to the house, etc).
You can even have ghost Wu still there as Lloyds companion, but Lloyd has no idea that was actually Wu, to him its just his little orb buddy dhfhdfhfdh.
it sounds like a lot of fun, just dont know if i have the time to expand on it yet haha
