Cuban sweet tooth Enjoying a cuban flan as street life passes by. A young girl is eating some sort of puff pastry similar to cuban flan, a custard filled cake. This dessert or snack is also served filled with chocolate, caramell or cheese. The area around Trinidad in southwest Cuba is old sugar cane farm land, but the flan is surprisingly not overly sweet in itself. But the filling, and with powdered sugar on top as well, it is a completely different story. The World cultural Heritage Old town of Trinidad is worth a visit in itself. But the immediate and external surroundings adds to the value.
