i'm going insane over these aus... ramblings + explanations under cut:

Evil Evil Love: the lonevamps hanahaki au!! Made this around the 3rd episode i think? To summarise it: Avid falls in love with Owen, it is not mutual, he develops hanahaki disease The name is inspired by the song Propose by 9Lana, which is the title track in the playlist i made for the au (its public on spotify if anyone's curious- called 'evil evil love') In the au, Avid isn't sick because the demon-curse-thing, his wound is from Elle instead of from his childhood injury, and while he is still actively being possessed, it isnt physically affecting him until after he dies as a vamp The flowers are blackthorn flowers, because i hc Oakhurst being somewhere in Europe, where blackthorns can be found, and i'm sure blackthorns flower sometime that makes sense for Vampires' timeline- and because I think it's cute, Owen probably 'discarded' some of the blackthorn flowers by giving them to Avid at the start of the series (this isn't minecraft-lore at all) In this au, Avid's plan for becoming a vampire is to stop the flowers actively growing in his lungs- his logic being that you can't suffocate something that doesn't breathe, can't kill something that isn't alive When he is turned, the flowers stop, contributing to his manically happy demeanour as a vampire In this au (because i don't really ship Avott), Avid is Just Like That around Scott, and still has feelings for Owen, but Scott gets kind of attached (i like unrequited ships if you can't tell), because he's learning to feel again- thanks to Shelby and Avid. All Avid's love for Owen only makes it more tragic when Owen and Pyro kill him, and as they claw him to death, flowers spill out of his wounds Owen doesn't know why Avid had thorny branches and bloody flowers within him, and he never will

unnamed amnesia au: This one doesn't have as much plot to it yet, but it is my way to somehow get wholesome Firelocke out of the doomed vampire that is Pyroscythe sometime during episode 7, Abolish finds a book that doesn't explain it's purpose, because it's impossible to read- scribbles in some old, untranslatable language. He 'eats' it anyway and moves on Eventually he comes across a Not Vampire! Pyro who also somehow has 0 memories of Oakhurst, or anything recent, but he knows his family, name, etc, and they're physically younger by about a year? (making him 21 in this au- abolish being 22 because i said so- no i don't care about canon) Pyro gets taken back to Oakhurst and Abolish tries not to let them get killed Abolish gets the vampires and town in a truce, and in doing so learns that Owen is nowhere to be found Turns out Owen is also cured, with no memories of being a vampire, because he has been "turned back" to an 11 year old kid, with only his knowledge/ memories from when he was that age (no Louis, no murders, which is great angst potential) Owen and Pyro move into Oakhurst (they didn't want Pyro around Scott again, and Legs didn't want a kid around the vampires) and the castle/town truce extends while everyone tries to figure out why Pyro and Owen have "turned back"/ how to fix it That's about as far i've gotten with this au, but I like kid!Owen having long hair, and Shelby braiding it for him + turned back Pyro very quickly falls for Abolish

Ok yap time: Quick Summary of The Unnamed Amnesiac au!! (someone help me name this au please T^T)

Firelocke good ending + a child >>>> (Sometime in episode 7) Abolish comes across a book, written in some old, untranslatable language, which he “eats.” A while later, he finds a human, very confused Pyro, who has 0 memory of Oakhurst (still has their memories from anything that isn’t recent). Later, human, kid Owen is found, with no memory of anything vampire-related (including Louis sadly :(

I have so many incoherent thoughts about this au so I’m attempting to make them legible haha:

The book Abolish found contained a spell, something along the lines of, “before creation of malice, good resides” which took the nearest people to Abolish (Pyro and Owen, all somewhere in the woods) and “took them back” to when they were least likely to be/ become “evil” (the book is old and follows some religious definition of what “evil” is) For Pyro, that was before Czeslaw’s death, not taking him back very far For Owen, it was his childhood- turning him back to ~8 years old (also because I’m a sucker for the “antagonist is turned into a child” trope) Abolish is the one who finds Pyro- in a clearing in the woods Pearl, Avid and Drift are the ones to find Owen (after a truce between the castle and town is made). Owen was hiding in one of the crypts (scared as hell because he’s a lost child). When they find him, he nearly stabs one of them with a stick. Too bad he is literally a child and Pearl just -scoops- him up The town and castle come up with a “getting out of Oakhurst and dealing with two amnesiacs” truce (after hours of arguing- some say Abolish and Legs still have a migraine to this day) Both Pyro and Owen move in with Abolish becasue he doesn’t have an incentive to kill the both of them “turned back” Pyro is a lot like pre-turned Pyro, yet somehow more bright and cheerful (and of course with the survival skills of a spoonful of butter) They also instantly fell for Abolish- for a multitude of reasons- and follow him around pretty much everywhere (lost puppy style) kid!Owen is this, quiet, antisocial kid because vsmp!Owen is a sopping wet cat and you cannot tell me that man had a social life growing up I imagine the majority of kid!Owen’s interactions with people are him staring at them with his big brown eyes (not a thought in sight) kid!Owen doesn't physically show his illness, but he is still sick, as he has been his whole life

CHARACTER INTERACTIONS/RELATIONSHIPS!!

Abolish takes a while to realise Pyro likes him (Owen had to tell him directly. It was so obvious the child had to point it out) Pearl, Owen, Shelby, Drift, Pyro, Sausage, Avid, Legs, Abolish and Martyn (once he got over it all) end up as a little friendly group (they obviously don’t stick around each other all the time- the vamps still mainly live the castle and everyone is always searching for ways out of Oakhurst), as the most friendly to Owen and Pyro and least likely to kill them both Scott is not allowed anywhere near Pyro. They got a restraining order on his ass. He is also a little disappointed his fledging is gone Apo is constantly very angry. Understandably. She does all the tasks they’re told to but very begrudgingly. Pyro is absolutely terrified of her. Cleo is much less upset than Apo and trying desperately to figure out how they can deal with this (but Pearl is friendly to Owen and Pyro, and she obviously can’t just kill them) Ren is as cautious and sceptic as always, but comes a little more around to Pyro and Owen after Martyn Pearl and Shelby tell Pyro about all their interactions he doesn’t remember (and Pyro feels a bit bad once they learn they turned her (and all the other people he turned)) Shelby plaits kid!Owen’s hair, and Pearl gave him a little wolf plush (because the wolves are migrating east this time of year if you weren’t aware) Pyro and Owen stick around Abolish the most, which he doesn’t mind because neither of them ever get in the way of anything, and they all enjoy each other’s company (if Abolish, Pyro and Owen hung out more as a trio in canon I would’ve been so happy but this is what fanfiction is for) Legs is very conflicted. When he met kid!Owen, he saw the man he couldn’t fix, couldn’t heal, couldn’t help, the man who carried so much hate, but he tries to take this second chance, and help this kid, try not to let him get broken again

Those are all my thoughts on this au right now… but it still consumes my thoughts… and im working on more stuff for it… And I’ll add more to this if I have some epilogue post-Oakhurst thoughts!

I have some art of this au here and will probably make more :)) (if i escape the curse of being busy all the damn time)

Scott: he was the only one who showed me constant love and devotion. I didn't see it at first but I guess the kiss helped

(i dont remember who said this originally but-) like they say, vampirism is like taking estrogen!! Avid was just doing things as a vamp, and Scott needed a little kiss! and your description of that is perfect- "you showed me humanity, love, helped me onto the path of redemption" vs "huh?"

I adoreee hanahaki aus, they're heartbreaking,, au stuffs: Owen thought of their interactions as so trivial, meaningless, scaring and teasing Avid's fear of vampires, giving him flowers because they were "junk" he accidentally picked up, but it hit Avid, recently traumatised and emotionally vulnerable, to hard. Maybe Avid could be okay, maybe Owen could make him okay, but he couldn't, and Owen cared much less and very differently about him than Avid could've ever thought. Avid in canon told nobody about his demon-sickness, so he wouldn't tell anyone about the flowers growing from his lungs in evil evil love! And when Avid became a vampire, the flowers didn't go away, they simply slowed their growth, as Avid still had love for Owen, that Owen didn't have for him- hence why when he was killed, flowers littered his wounds

the doodle in the centre has Avid's reasoning to become a vampire in this au! vampires are thought as "undead," and before he realised vampirism could fully cure disease, he thought that being undead/not breathing would stop the flowers from suffocating him
