Cubistic Houses Print: Junique: https://www.juniqe.com/de/shop/thor-brush Done in Adobe Illustrator / Photoshop
1920 Janine Aghion, "Untitled - Dancer (from The Essence of the mode of the day)".
This is a pochoir plate from the exquisite early Art Deco portfolio by Janine Aghion, illustrating the Joys of the Day. Aghion was an illustrator and fashion designer, starting her career with renowned couturier Paul Poiret in Paris in the Teens. Aghion's style was in the avant-garde, with cubistic geometry, vibrant fields of color and extremely elongated figures that bordered on pure abstraction. This 15 plate portfolio of a woman in different activities throughout the day is one of the joys of Jazz Age fashion illustration. This plate is very rare - #76 of an edition of 150. (x)

Cubism
technique: soft pastel
today's vanguard is one of the most scientific. it's supposed to be analysis of the form and synthesis to get to the purest form. You see, they tried to view the form in every way, in every perspective, through the 4th dimension. that's why, some friends and i, believe that in the 4th dimension you can see cubism painting in their normal way ;)

During the 1920s, Earl Horter assembled a magnificent collection which centered on a group of Cubist paintings by Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque. In Wissahickon Creek, Horter appears to have been himself influenced by the Cubist works in his collection.

I dreamed about the Swedish artist and cubist Gösta Adrian Nilsson (1884-1965) during the night. He is, according to me, the best and most interesting and innovative Swedish artist ever. And he is one of my biggest inspirations. His art is free from the typical naked women who are supposed to represent something beautiful, fragile, passive, innocent, sexy and so on. Extremely few artists have a lifetime of artwork that's free from that tiresome cliché. GAN had his reasons, but still, he didn't just fall into that old artist role.
Just look at the colour scheme in this first painting! And light, the prism. And what looks like a pale winter sun. The lazy sailors wandering in Stockholm's harbor streets.
Long live sailors and cubism.
