Boomerangs from today's CUCB 5K!
April 1 run - 6 miles. We made it to D.C.! Flight was about an hour late taking off and they had to de-ice us first, but we made it. Went out this morning and did a shakeout run around the tidal basin and the Mall. The weather is perfect here today - low 50s and sunny. Not super crowded, but we did our fair share of dodging tourists. Headed over to the Cherry Blossom expo in a little bit. Should be a good day!
Flat Matt ready to roll. 3 dimensional Matt is ready for bed.
April 2 run - 10 miles. Cherry Blossom in the books! Full write up later. Breakfast now.
(Picture of me and my very pretty lady is better than a boring map, but figured I'd post this as well.)
March 25 run - 11.2 miles. Early run for a Saturday (but late posting - got busy afterwards). We were out the door a little after 7. The problem was that I didn't get up early enough to eat first. 11 miles ended up being a little too long for a fasted run. Started off at a good pace but slowed a lot over the last half. I guess that's understandable. I'm going to do a mini-taper over the next week before Cherry Blossom. I'm not expecting a blazing time mainly because of a complete lack of any speed work. Should still be fun.
March 28 run - 7 miles. Don't you hate it when you don't run in the morning, you see it get progressively more overcast while you're at work, and then it starts raining on your way home? Me too. This was a wet and cold run. By the end, my legs were numb. Still, glad I got out there. This puts me a little over 500 miles for the year. Tomorrow is going to be an off day. Trying to dial things back a little bit leading up to the race.
