Fitz made a silent little “mmh” of confusion that could easily be mistaken for one of discomfort, but he didn’t move his arm out of the way. He wasn’t used to the stubble, itchy and always rubbing his cardigans weirdly, but his hands were nowhere near steady enough to shave, not to mention the fact that the splash of water if he tried wasn’t exactly a comfortable experience. But this? This gentle, idle touch was nice. He’d never had it before, not really, not like this. It was wonderful, the gentle heat of another person, the comforting weight of them, gentle touches to stimulate sensations, he could see why people craved it to the point of rudeness. “G…good.”
"Yeah?" Jemma found herself a bit breathless, not having expected Fitz to give any kind of vocal approval. It made her feel bolder; this was one way people tried to communicate their romantic feelings, wasn't it? Sure, the actions themselves could still be interpreted as friendly, which normally was also a source of confusion for her, but in this specific context it was different, because they had never exchanged cuddles, and it was happening after a love declaration. So she turned her head to press a kiss against his cheek, hoping it would say more, especially since she wasn't going anywhere.
