hearing the sound of someone calling out to him in the dark room, he opened his right eye just enough to peek around. he wasn’t sure just who would be trying to get his attention at this hour … or if anyone actually was at all. maybe he was simply dreaming that he heard those sounds. once hearing the boy begin to rustle out of his futon on the floor, imaizumi knew that it wasn’t a ghost at all. rather, it was sugimoto.
“what –” his question was abruptly cut off by the other crawling up onto his bed with him. lifting up the blanket to allow the other to snuggle in easier, his question had answered itself. honestly – if the boy really wanted to share a bed … he could have just asked in the first place. sure, imaizumi would pretend like it was a hassle, but beneath that exterior, he would be happy that the other asked – even if it seemed like he wasn’t.
pulling the blanket back up, he asked. “did you have a nightmare … ?” as if he could not figure out the reason for the other joining him like this. he knew that he wasn’t the most welcoming of people at all times – but there were certain times where you could push the bill with him & succeed. it was all about finding the right time to get close to him.
Feeling the other actually lifting the blanket to make room for him was enough to not back off, instead proceeding with his intentions. Exhaling softly when Shunsuke tucked both of them back in and feeling the warmth of both the blanket and the other’s body, he couldn’t help but smile to himself and be so happy that the other would not be able to see it ---- usually, it was all the taller needed to tease him, really.
Though, as soon as his actions were questioned, Terufumi moved his head up and stared at the other in confusion, embarrassed to be treated like a child.
“Nnnnno?!?! I was still awake! The bed just sounded a lot more comfortable than the futon...! Despite the traditional futon being such an important part of any household, as an experienced connoisseur of worldwide bedding, I must say that it’s still healthier for the back posture to have a proper mattress.” Despite the fact that this was the time to be sound asleep, he found himself unstoppable to start a pointless conversation on whether a bed or a futon was better.
Though, as annoying as he may have been, he turned the situation around and clung his arms around the man’s chest and hugged him as tightly as he possibly could. “Extra points for a very cuddly Imaizumi, hehe.” Terufumi didn’t need much to be happy: just the other’s warmth and the scent of both his body and hair made his day already.
