who steals french fries off the other’s plate: both, gwaine is more known for stealing food, but arthur is just as much of a thief, he’s just stealthier

who jokingly moves in for the kiss when someone asks if they’re a couple: gwaine, he thinks its hilarious every time and will laugh for minutes afterward while arthur just shakes his head

who has to bust or bail the other out of jail: obviously arthurs the one always getting gwaine out of jail (and its usually busting instead of bailing)

who gives the other advice/comfort about dating issues: gwaine gives arthur advice, he needs it more, and gwaine can be surprisingly sensitive

who shamelessly cheats at games by reaching over to cover the other’s eyes: arthur, he can’t stand to loose. sometimes he’ll even try the whole “hey look over there!” trick (of course, in any sort of /real/ contest he would never cheat bc thats not honorable). gwaine would play dirty too but he doesnt care enough (unless its for money of course)

who immediately calls dibs on the top bunk: gwaine, he thinks it gives him some sort of dominance in the relationship (it doesn’t)

who starts and who wins the pillow fights: both are always in the mood for play-fighting and arthur always wins bc gwaine is too busy laughing (unless percival is around in which case he wins by clubbing them on the head with a pillow until they surrender)

who says “your pants would look better on their floor” to the other’s potential crush: this is so gwaine. he literally can’t not flirt with someone, but he also has to respect his friends, so he just flirts for them. arthur pretends to hate it, but its proven surprisingly effective.

Hey, I'm not really crazy active in the Merlin fandom either, but I do know The Student Prince by FayJay is definitely one of those fandom classics. Thought you might be interested if you haven't read it, or at least your anon might like it!

Hey, could you possibly explain to me what pansexuality is? I've looked it up but the part that I don't get is the difference between pan and bi, because I know there are lots of different genders, but aren't there only two sexes? Like /physically/ there's just male and female, and doesn't sexuality refer to what you're physically attracted to? I'm really sorry if any of this came off as insulting or ignorant I'm just confused and not very knowledgable about that topic.

oh god oh man well this is a can of worms

so let’s start with the difference between the two words.  obviously bisexual includes the prefix ‘bi’, which means two.  pansexual includes the prefix ‘pan’ which means ‘all’ or ‘many’.

now if we just go strictly by this, bisexual seems to mean ‘sexually attracted to two genders’, while pansexual seems to mean ‘attracted to multiple genders’.

the term ‘bisexual’ has been around longer than ‘pansexual’ and originally just meant a person that liked boys and girls.  the term ‘pansexual’ evolved out of a more recent desire to include the transgender, intersex, or otherwise nonbinary folks as well.

the thing is though, a lot of bisexuals have come out and said “wait, hold up - we didn’t mean to exclude those people!  we can be attracted to them too!”  to them, bisexuality is a case of simply being attracted to your own gender and other genders, those other genders being unspecified - i.e. bisexual and pansexual mean basically the same thing to them.  yet, there are still some bisexuals that maintain that nonbinary people are not a thing, whether though an innocent lack of education or some backwards political reason, and will still describe themselves as ‘attracted to both genders’.  this is why some specifically refer to themselves as ‘pansexual’ - to clearly state that they include all genders, and are not ignorant to their existence.

so this is an ongoing debate.  I recently decided that ‘pansexual’ best described my sexuality.  I am capable of being attracted to anyone of any gender.  the reason I picked ‘pansexual’ over ‘bisexual’ is because I think ‘bisexual’ is an outdated term.  I have the view that no matter how much you meddle with the definition, ‘bi-’ will always be a prefix for ‘two’, and therefore, to me the term ‘bisexual’ will always imply some kind of gender-binary nonsense.  DAS JUS ME DOE

seriously though I am by no means an expert and you should probably ask a couple of different people to fact-check me and make sure I didn’t fuck this up.
