putting everything under the cut for spoiler's sake and also because this has ended up being quite long. including: my thoughts on previous yuriful moments, reactions to more yuriful moments, and then putting characters under microscopes for one paragraph each because i love analyzing yuri
1) my first impressions are that theyre both dumb lesbians and eloise is the slightly motr competent dumb lesbian. that bit with the codpiece??? how sir bek mentioned it so casually and eloise got all embarrassed? it had me WHEEZING but it also had me thinking there's a key difference in characters here and i need to watch more to fully put a finger on it.
2) they both find each other very attractive. that's EXTREMELY apparent and it's SO cute and funny i LOVE IT "i thought knights were supposed to be ugly" you just know el was the spitting image of that one lego batman gif in that moment
3) when el dropped that feather and bek just. snatched it. and proceeded to keep it in her hotbar for multiple episodes (not even in her inventory- her HOTBAR where she can SEEIT 24/7.) before deciding "yknow what this actually belongs in my HAIR". i've been going insane over that since the second it happened. she takes a piece of her wherever she goes.
4) not el sneaking away to see bel in the stables IMSIDE the city walls KNOWING the danger RIGHT AFTER SHE BECAME QUEEN NO LESS oh they're so downbad for each other im reeling
4.5) mini-addition? i was listening to a playlist and The Bird Song by Noah Floersch (featuring em beihold) is SO them core.... "she was a bird.... i was an arrow....." AUUAUAGH I AM ILL ABOUT THEM
okay i've watched The Yuriful Vod now. a few things
them talking about the poem and talking about writing letters to each other. they are so soft for each other i'm giggling
el being afraid if how they'll get to see each other when she's not queen anymore i'm SOBBING... "i would become a rogue for you" bek says and KEEPS INSISTING ON IT??;!.!(!.! oh my god
THEN THEY GET SPOTTED AND ITS SO FUN YIWAS GIGGLING THE WHOLE TIME
when they decided they'd pick a special place for them to meet in secret anytime.... oh the forbidden yuri.... oh yhe ANGST............
and the place they found having a blue and red construction built there.... im giggling..... they're so........ so yuriful.... either that was put there on mere coincidence or someone built it on purpose to make the yuri even yuri-er and either way i'm so giddy that it happened.. they're so in love im exploding uuauauauauauagaghahahhhhhgghgrgdgr
the part where el asks about the feather in bel's hair, and bek is so nervous to actually say that she nabbed it on purpose, and eloise is probably wise to her trye intentions of keeping the feather but is giving her grace anyway. and saying rhat she looks nice with it. and saying that she can keep it. and. oh. oh my heart. i love them
"i quite like watching you work." "really? well i enjoy watching you rest while i work." hey so maybe you should just kiss passionately right now how about that
okay. okay. so. character analysis. because god i love it so so much. character analysis is my favorite thing ever.
sir bek is very clearly far more... strongly opinionated, to the concept of Red and Blue colliding and intermingling in such a way. she's actively breaking down a barrier between rivaling kingdoms, willingly, doing so all for the sake of and i quote "a hot blue kingdom mage". and somehow she still opposes symbols of their joining! the red and blue picnic blanket there she describes as treasonous, or whatever-- i forget the exact wording she used. the point here is, sir bek is crossing a boundary with this relationship, and she is very hesitant to face that (and what it could mean for her position and the kingdoms as a whole) head-on. that bit was the best summary of how bek feels about their relationship, i think.
meanwhile mage eloise (i haven't watched much of her pov yet unfortunately, i certainly plan to when i get the chance) seems more afraid of the consequences than the relationship itself. eloise even proposed the idea of purple flowers-- the mix of red and blue-- a visual symbol of her and bek's entwinement. eloise seems to be well aware of the scandal they are partaking in, of the repercussions of said scandal, of the boundaries it crosses. and she wants it anyway. she seems to be quite happy to cross the boundary if she gets to see Buff Knight more often lmao.
this is very fun. i like it. i like their dynamic a lot your honor. i'm slamming eloise and bekyamon's characters together like barbie dolls in my head. mage el and sir bek of yamon my yuri children
