an ’ oomf ’ sounds leaves his lips    at the sudden push forward he    gets when her body collides against    his back. some steadying is necessary,    hands flailing about so he doesn’t    make them both crash down onto the ground.

                like the baller he is, he steadies,                tossing a look over his shoulder                at his favorite coyote, & grinning.
