In his defense, he did everything according to the rules. Everything in the name of the ancient art of pickpocketing. A guy needs to eat, and reverting to the old mechanisms is so easy, especially if said mechanisms work. A classic, really: shoulder bump, little apology, and the victim is none the wiser and a few dollar bills lighter. 

But there’s been an oopsie, and the thing slid a bit out of his grasp, and when time came to pick quit or double, Jay totally went with double when he should’ve quit. Which landed him in the embarrassing position of having his hand swatted away by his victim. 

Come on, now, gotta find a good save.
