Just You and Me || Chase & Elliott

Short notice never works that well for Elliott, but on occasion, he recognizes, he has to seize an opportunity the second it’s available and simply hope for the best.
Elliott and Julia had fallen into a routine together on the nights that they were home. They’d often make or eat dinner and chat about their days, continuing to solidify their burgeoning friendship and relationship as roommates, and originally that was the plan for that very evening. He receives a text, however, shortly after he gets home, informing him that there’s an emergency at the vet, and that she’ll be home late.
Small favors. He sends quick good thoughts to her, then calls Chase, heart already pounding in his chest. They’d texted briefly a few days beforehand, mostly for Elliott to give him his number in response, but work had been too busy to find a convenient way to get together - until now.
The second Chase answers, Elliott is already speaking brightly. “Chase, sweetheart, how are you? What plans do you have tonight?”
