cullen do you prefer girls who can boss you around?
"i...i mean...i"
(the answer is yes...he does)
Cullen: the Divine, the Rite of Tranquility, and Orlais?
❇️ The Divine;
he will always support the divine. he's andrastian to the core no matter how his beliefs regarding mages change. so he trusts the divine. he also thinks both cassandra and leliana would make good divines. he doesn't totally trust vivienne in the role, but he would in fact support her if she was nominated and elected.
✳️ The Rite of Tranquility;
in origins he thinks it's a rarity only used to protect mages. in da2 he believes it's more necessary, he's fed that. in inquisition he struggles with his feelings toward it in the past, and supports a cure.
💎 Orlais;
it isn't that he really hates orlais, it's that he thinks that orlais is so pretentious and can't take anything seriously. he also left the winter palace feeling sick to his stomach and anxious, barely able to keep it together. (literal quote from the game "cullen is afraid. they're hunting him, following fear. he shouldn't be here") and he feels a bit alone because his harassment and groping through the night is treated as a running joke by those he is close to. so any sort of orlesian society he will refuse to do as much as he can get away with it? he still gets a weird pit in his stomach when he's near a member of court who mentions marriage. it's partially why he hides to the side in trespasser, kept in a small area that's easy to pass by. he wants to enjoy parts of it, and he could be made to enjoy parts of it in the right context.
⚡️ Magic and Mages in general;
⭐️ The Circle of Magi
for cullen !
the answer to both of these depends at what point of his life you hit cullen in!
⚡️ Magic and Mages in general;
origins: not going to lie he's got a very weird protector white knight sort of complex. he thinks he's protecting them from themselves, because mages cannot be allowed to just rule themselves? that would be disastrous.
2: he hates mages sure, but mostly that he fears them. behind every look and every gesture he sees death. he is angry that they don't appreciate the gifts they have. every night he dreams of blades and demon's nails. even through that hate he doesn't really support any extra abuses, especially "the tranquil solution." but he won't hear anything about freedom, governance, and anti-templar sentiment. he thinks they are dangerous and mages can't be let into the world.
inquisition: he changes over time. at first he is very afraid that the mages will take over. but as that doesn't happen he begins to wonder. it takes a lot of work but he does come to respect them and their plight. he is a supporter and he wants to learn more about what happens. he knows that he may never be able to undo what he caused, but he's going to be damned if he ever lets his actions and the teachings of bigotry that he had learned in the past is going to allow him to hurt others in the future.
⭐️ The Circle of Magi
origins: the circles are there for the protection of mages and the public. they might not be perfect, but they're the best solution and most mages who are complaining are just secret blood mages
2: the circles are the only option. the harsher the rule of the mages is for the good of the people.
inquisition: he doesn't stop thinking that the circles are wholly useless? he comes to understand that they can't be little lock ups, and they can't be ruled with an iron fist. and maybe they shouldn't be forever. but having a school to train mages? having a place for magical resources and a way to funnel some of that skill like a branch of the military or a hospital can be good. he just understands that it cannot going back. he's never going to ever say that he is 100% against them, but he's aware that it needs reform.
another cullen post. if he lets you run your fingers through his hair do it...because if you do it for long enough he will start humming and he loves it.
all i’m saying about cullen and touch/romance/sex is that once he feels that attraction and trust he’s probably just gonna look at them like this?? like a feral tom cat that came to like human touch? just all heart eyes and smiles.
📂📂
when cullen has kids he becomes that dad. the one that makes terrible jokes, and stands with his hands on his hips watching over things. if they had calf high white socks in thedas he’d be wearing those.
it takes a ton of effort to get dorian to wake up early. he would sleep until noon every single day if he could. it's partially the fact that he stays up far too late, and partially that he has no desire to.
💝 + for morwenna, merrill and/or cullen?
morwenna
josephine - honestly that's morwenna's in game romance and i love the idea of the smart spouse and the dumb spouse. plus morwenna would do anything for her.
a female inquisitor? i could really see her with one in her inquisitor verse
sera! now hear me out, she does hate sera for most of the play through, but i think that if the two could actually speak together i think they might be cute?
a woman smarter than her, maybe a diplomat oc or some companion? morwenna is a sucker for someone who is smarter than her (not hard but still)
merril
hawke - the classic. and you can't mess with the classics. i prefer her with a pro-mage hawke along more of a friendship romance path.
carver - another classic. i'm sorry they're both very cute so why can't they be cute together??
isabella - i mean....she calls merril kitten and i would die for her
fenris - i'm a sloot for enemies to lovers and this applies
cullen
inquisitors - no gender or race preferences? but like building trust and respect and feelings through the field of battle? incredible.
alistair - because childhood friends to lovers with maybe some butting heads in between??
dorian - they both have enough baggage to fill a plane, and maybe they can work through that together.
josephine again (can you tell i love her?) i dunno. farm boy soldier and pretty noble lady is the stuff of fairy tales and i still love it.
