Staring at Google
After starting at Google, obviously sucking all of the information out of the screen, this was the response when someone asked if it has any influence on my work or has helped me in any way.
The Google banner today is an animation and graphic representing Laszio Biro’s 117th Birthday. Laszio Biro is the inventor of the ballpoint pen, a very important piece of stationary. Within the graphics there is an animation of the movement of pen and its process of working, relating to now and through the ages. This translates to artwork through the journey of a paint, paintbrush, and paper (or material). The paint travels through mediums, depositing residue on surfaces and we call this painting. It’s a process, movement and more importantly a journey. Not just a physical journey with paint, paper, and the brush but also the painting and the painter. The artist takes a journey with the painting to discover its true meaning. They lay themselves bare so that all emotions can be focused on their work.
