Ok this might be kinda angsty,, but could I request Sal finding his S/O after they’ve been kind of “brainwashed” by the cult and tries to kill him? If you can get it to have a happy ending that’d be really cool! 💖
OOF ANON. Anon. You’re speakin’my language, now!
They had gone missing. No one knew where they were, but theywere gone and it was driving Sal mad. They had just hung out literally two weeks ago! And then, the day after, theyjust… Vanished. Gone, without a trace. It wasn’t right. It made his skin crawl, made his heart beat erratically. Something had happened, and no one knewanything.
Which was how he ended up back in the basement of Addison Apartmentswith Larry. They’d split up, Larry going left, Sal going right. The last timehe’d been down here had been for Ashley. It had given him the creeps back then, but now? It was as if the creep factor had been amped up to 100. His hands shookas he crept through the maze, his breath coming faster as the minutes passed.
He’d never been afraid of the dark until coming down here.
Footsteps. Too light to be Larry. Was it them? Was itsomeone else?
He didn’t know. Wasn’t sure if he wanted to know.
“Hello?” He called out hesitantly, ears straining as hewaited for a response with baited breath.
And a response he got, in the form of being body slammedinto the fuckin’ ground.
His breath left him in a surprised whoosh, his skull cracking against the stones. His ears rang, hisvision swam, but he could have recognized that face from anywhere. “[Y/N], whatthe fuck?!” He exclaimed, confusion evident as he stared up at them.
At the knife in their hands.
At the knife that was plunging down towards oh, shit, oh,fuck!
He bucked his hips, causing their balance to go askew enoughfor him to roll out from under them. “[Y/N]! It’s me! It’s Sal!”
“No!” They cried, shaking their head, tears filling theireyes. “No, no, no! No, you’re not him!” They charged at him, prompting for Salto break into a run.
“What do you mean, ‘I’m not him’? I’m Sal! Babe, it’s me!What the FUCK DON’T TRY TO STAB ME-” he dodged the blow, just barely, the knifeslicing through the shoulder of his sweater. He reached out, grabbing theirwrist, pressing down on the radial nerve hard enough to garner a gasp from themas numbness swept through their thumb and index fingers, the knife clatteringto the floor.
“You’re not him!”
“Stop saying that!”Sal shook his head, brows furrowed as he pulled them in, trapping their arms totheir sides with his own. “What the hellis going on?”
“Sal? Sal!” Larry’s voice echoed, panic in his tone. “Areyou okay?!”
“I’m fine!” Sal called back, even as they struggled in hisarms. “I found [Y/N}!”
“I’m on my way!”
He couldn’t wait for Larry. “What’s going on?”
“Let me GO!” They bellowed, and in a surprising show ofstrength, jerked them both to the side. Sal winced as he landed harshly on hisshoulder, almost certain it was out of place now. He tried to catch them, but hecouldn’t, their head hitting against a pillar as they went down.
Sal’s heart stopped. His face paled.
“No, no, no,” he murmured, crawling to them. Carefully, heturned their head, watching as their eyelids fluttered. “[Y/n]? Can you hearme?”
“Sal?” They mumbled, tongue thick as they tried to come backto. “Where…?”
“Explain later. We’re leaving.” Larry appeared at just theright moment, aiding Sal in carrying them out of the basement. They left AddisonApartments, going back to the house he was renting with Neil and Todd, who were, thankfully, out for the day.
Sitting on the couch in the living room, Sal listened asthey explained everything.
“And the next thing I know, I’m in this… Lab? Cell? I don’teven know. But I’m strapped down, andI can’t move, and Sal- Sal, I could hear screams. There were others down there. And then I just…” They shook their head, browsfurrowed. “I don’t remember anything until… You.”
Larry handed them a bag of frozen peas wrapped in a towelfor their head. “You don’t remember anything?” He asked, sitting on the arm ofthe couch.
“Nothing.”
Sal sighed, running a hand through his hair. “Well, shit.”
“Double shit.”
Shaking his head, he glanced towards them, relief surgingthrough him as they flashed him a small smile. He wrapped his arm around theirshoulders, pulling them close. “I’m just glad you’re okay. And I’m not swisscheese.”
A snort escaped them. “I’m glad you’re not swiss cheese, too.”
“Speaking of cheese, does anyone want cheese tots?” Larryinterrupted, prompting for Sal to let out a snort while his lover snickered. “What?I’m a growin’ boy!”
“You stopped growing in senior year.”
“I’m a growin’ boy,Sally!”
Rolling his eyes, he leaned his head against their’s. “Let’sgo get food for the starving man before he withers away into dust.”
Depsite how the mood had lifted, he didn’t let them out ofhis sight. He kept a hand on them at all times, until they returned to thehouse. And even then, he lingered, worried. If the cult was going after him, what did that mean for his friends? They had used his partner against him…
Something big was happening. He didn’t want to know what itwas.
