“Hey, has anyone seen Franky?”
Kim was expecting to hear a round of ‘no’s from her mates, the girls of her old unit that felt more like family than her own on the outside did. Things has changed just a little since she was transferred to another unit, one that was quieter, easier to study in. Initially she had been angry, but given that it was out of her control, it didn’t last for long. There was still plenty of time throughout the day to find her way back to her girl, anyways.
“I think she's in a meeting with Ms. Westfall, love.”
Liz may have been motherly towards them all, but Kim had never wanted to lunge at her more than she did after the answer left her mouth. She hated hearing about the shrink, hated seeing the look Franky got whenever the woman came around. It boiled her blood. Huffing to herself, she shoved her hands into her pockets and left the yard to head to her old unit, pace fast enough that Ms. Miles called out that she had to slow down. If Franky hadn’t returned yet, she’d simply make herself comfortable and wait for her. It wasn’t like she had anything better to do in a shit hole like this one, anyways.
When she arrived to see empty cells all around, she let out a sigh and moved to flop down onto one of the chairs in the common area of the unit. At least this would give her time to get her jealousy under control — the last thing she wanted was for Franky to get mad at her for being short and snappy as soon as she returned. Kim wanted her to see that she was so much better than the shrink, not the other way around.
