Grunts from fellow fighters could be heard around the Boxing Club as sparring matches and training regimens took place. The dull thud of bags being hit, the thick stench of sweat, knocked at the edges of Eva’s senses. But she ignored it all, paying attention to the opponent in front of her, grinning from ear to ear with her joy of another hard-earned victory.
“I win,” Eva announced proudly, hands on hips. She walked over to where she heard Soomin, reaching out a hand to help her up. “Gotta say, though, looks like you’re getting better at blocking my hits.”
She spoke casually, pleasantly without the typical cockiness of a Club-raised or cold assuredness of a Spade. Like this sparring match wasn’t just a test of skill against a Kumiho, a species she rarely got to fight, but rather a game. Eva enjoyed this new challenge that Soomin presented. Ever since meeting the Kumiho she’d found herself more driven in her personal training. Something about Soomin’s fierceness, though rough and unpolished, sparked a fire in the Shapeshifter. She guessed, with enough training, Soomin would one day be her match in a fight.
But that wasn’t today.
“You could definitely use some improvement, though. You were wide open at the end there. Wanna ‘nother round? Still won’t go easy on ya, though.”
Even as she asked, Eva walked back to her starting position, stretching her muscles and preparing for the next match. Her bat ears twisted and turned, focusing on Soomin’s breaths, ready whenever the other woman was.

To be honest, by this point I’m not planning on anything else big- I think my next post will consist mostly of where other characters stand in this AU(like Yurio and Phichit), and maaaybe something else for Victor and Yuuri, but probably in present time. This AU was very fun to create, but I don’t think I’ll expand that much on it, since I have my own personal projects as well and I’ve been struggling to find time;; ol-< But I’m really happy by how well-received it was!
Now- I can still reply to your questions with my personal choices on this AU. If you consider them to be definitive answers or not, though, that’s your choice!
I got a bit excited over it, so, beware! THIS IS LOOONG.
- They grow closer to eachother by keeping in touch via letters. Yuuri’s bring great joy to Victor, who emotionally supports Yuuri whenever he’s struggling.
- That has limitations, ofc - no matter how fast you reply, there’s always a delay between the letters, and they grow more distant with the passing of the years, overcome by their own busy lives.
- So, by the time Yuuri is a 5th year(remember the O.W.L. tests? rip), their contact is reduced to periodical letters. Victor’s only been busier since he decided to dedicate his full time to quidditch, after graduating.
- And that’s how it goes. By the time Yuuri graduates, he barely knows about Victor’s life outside the news. His school life is very different, tho- with his own efforts and Victor’s support, he managed to overcome a lot of challanges, is a lot more confident and while still a little anti-social, he has friends and even fans? ? ?(hello, minami)
- now, I DON’T KNOW WHERE TF YUURI WOULD WORK. I wanted something kinda flashy but that would also leave a window for personal expression. He’d also work alone and this job would highlight his love for magic in general. Is there a job like that
- It wouldnt be quidditch related, but he’d still be a huge fan of it. And Victor(altho Yuuri doesn’t idolizes him as much as he did before they met)
- They meet. Coincidentally. idk how but they do- it’s at some party and Yuuri’s drunk bc ep10 is (praying hands emoji). Victor’s has a hard time recognizing this new Yuuri and is like “WHO TF IS THIS” but is far from displeased by it. Yuuri gets very affectionate when drunk. And hot. Right.
- After that, Victor decides to contact Yuuri again and they meet and talk properly. It’s REALLY awkward tho. They used to mean so much to eachother, and still do, but now it’s something more like a precious memory that you hold close, after all those years of distance, and that you fill with other things in your life.
- And uhhhm they manage to get closer again. Their relationship is different, but stronger! They’re both adults now, and can support each other and yadda yadda things happen but its a happy ending!
And that’s it.
As a bonus, I personally like the idea that Victor actually always loved Yuuri. It wouldn’t be something as *cough* clear-cut as romantic love esp at the beginning, tho, but nevertheless, he never felt like it’d be proper to make a move, because of their ages and also because Yuuri’s grasp on his own feelings was never solid enough. He didn’t want to push that. But his feelings were still there even after they stopped talking, and rekindled when they met again in the future, assuming a whole new form after getting closer again.
