[OCTOBER 2024] Songsterr tab for Weezer's "Cuomoville" has been completed and uploaded, as per user request!

"Cuomoville" is the penultimate track from Weezer's SZNZ: Summer EP from 2022. As I mentioned in my song description for the album's closing track, "Thank You and Good Night", this EP is full of key changes, minor chords, and tone shifts. "Cuomoville" easily slots among these descriptors, with a key change between each verse and chorus, as well as a separate key in the final chorus of the song. Not to mention, it features a rather polarizing bridge full of rapid sixteenth notes and malevolent lyrics, juxtaposing the rest of the song's utopian message.

When tabbing this song out, I was surprised at how strange and varied its chord progression was, as well as how the transitions between each section of the song mask the key changes well enough that one may not notice how frequent they are on the first listen-through. I was also surprised that the chorus lyrics are only present twice in the song—simply a first chorus and then final chorus—with the middle "chorus" actually being taken over by the solo. Of all the songs on the album, I think this one in particular does a good job at exemplifying the EP's Ancient Rome inspiration, with its bridge an obvious reference to the Colosseum.
