of the divine by @thedevilinmybrain (Mixed ratings, 2-part series, 104K) Oh my god. This series. I cried buckets. It’s so beautifully written. The sex scenes are so tender and sexy, but in such a pure way. Their relationship is so good… you can totally feel how much they love each other, the climactic scene OH MY GOD so intense. It’s also got great zouis friendship and a very sweet narry friendship. Tender punk Louis and guardian angel Harry. Read it.
Sanctuary by metal_eye / @metal-eye (2-part series, 4K, mixed ratings) Oh man, what can I say about these incredible fics. They’re like pure poetry. I made a fic post for them here and here’s what I said about them then: Last year I came across the first part of this series and it took my breath away. So much so that I begged the author to write more (which they graciously did a few weeks ago). The writing is rich and poetic and deeply, deeply moving. It’s the sort of quiet story that can often be overlooked in a fandom full of multi-chaptered, showier works, but it is no less worthy of praise. I think the fact that this author manages to create such a heart wrenchingly beautiful portrait of love, loss, commitment, and desire in just under 4,000 words is amazing. Take a little time and give these a read. They’re really something special. (They’re both angels)
Say Hallelujah, Say Goodnight by alivingfire (E, 110K) This is an epic Angel and Demon fic that I still think about from time to time. It’s action packed throughout, heartbreaking at points, and full of beautifully written passages. A wild ride from start to finish. (Louis is an angel, Harry is a demon)
Cupid’s Chokehold by bluelemur (E, 35K) Ok…this is another I read a really long time ago and my only notes were about the smut (sorry 🙈), so I can’t guarantee you anything BUT….I liked it a lot at one point. LOL! And I love the idea of a Cupid trying to match supposed soulmates, but falling for one of them instead. (Louis is the cupid, FYI)
Divine Intervention by Awriterwrites / @a-writerwrites (E, 6K) This fic is short, but super sexy and bittersweet. Something about the way Louis is so gentle in it just gets to me.
Stranger on the Shore by CellarDoor (T, 3K) Ok, let me start off by saying that this fic is SAD. Like, not just angsty sad, sad like not a happy ending. BUT, if you can handle that, this is just beautiful writing. Listen….I cry over everything, but I did read this. And I did love it. But, man….
as we move slowly by snsk (GA, 3K) So, this is actually a canon divergent fic in which Louis grows wings. So he’s not technically an angel, but this fic is absolutely gorgeous – dreamy, poetic, and full of beautifully written metaphors.
May We Stay Lost On Our Way Home by LoadedGunn (E, 74K) I read this one so long ago, so all I recall is that it was really sexy. But this author always writes such well-paced, compelling fics that I feel confident recommending it. Louis is a fairy in this one.
hold on to your stars before they fade by adelagia (T, 32K) This fic… wow. Such beautiful writing. Such a touching story. Loved the OT5 friendship and banter. Don’t miss out on this one. (Harry’s a fairy)

the impossible now by stylinsoncity (M, 65K) I screamed about this fic for weeks when it was first posted because it’s just so moving and so beautifully written. It’s got a twist to it that makes it both wonderful romantic and heartbreaking at the same time. Happy ending, I promise, but I cried. A lot. Shocker, I know.
