i've been rather inactive on tumblr, but i'm crawling out of the trenches to ask: how was your birthday! did you do anything fun to celebrate? i have it in my calendar, but that was also my travel day 😒 my students and i were coming back from france

i worked on my actual birthday but im actually celebrating tonight with friends! we're going to ingest some shroom chocolates and watch all of monsta x's music videos (also going out for food but that's less funny hehe). we've done it with a few discographies for birthdays in the past and it's so fun so im looking forward to that! i also ordered myself a cute fancy little cake 🎂

I bought BG3 a few days ago and I've already sank 27 hours into it. It's so expansive that it's forcing me to confront my completionist and hoarding tendencies. Enjoying it greatly!!!

Niiiiiice!! I'm glad you're enjoying it~ It is definitely waaaay too big to go for a completionist thing, especially in the first playthrough. There are so many small minute differences depending on your choices or character too it's so fun to see how it changes based on that. Who are you loving so far character wise??

Baldur's Gate 3 is on sale right now for $45 and I thought of all your posts lol I can finally play it because my new gaming laptop (second hand) has the specs to run it. Do you suggest getting the game?

Oh absolutely I do !! $45 is a good price for how massive the game is haha I've recently been replaying it a bit too, actually haha Found a cool charismatic pirate build

every time you talk about bg3, i want to play it so much

it is SO fucking good like im not even joking. the depth of character, the expansiveness of the story and the worldbuilding, the breadth of possibilities....its so worth it.

the game mechanics can be tough to get used to if you're not familiar with turn based crpgs and even more so if you don't know how the basics of dnd character building work, but its so worth it even if it can feel a little overwhelming at times lol

i really only managed to get super into it after i started following a build guide for my character to sort of walk me through the options and what gear is best etc. then i only had to focus on story and decisions in game which was nice :')) but fr it has taken over my life i have like 560 hours in it now jfhdskah

just finished reading "in earnest" so i'll type up my thoughts some time this week, but girl. GIRL. my heart HURTS. love triangles always get me, but the ones where there's no clear choice, those always break my heart. i was in tears in the middle, when it could've gone either way
