Why am I interested in Mexican folk magic?
For such a long time, I didn't know who I was. I still don't really know. My family didn't keep track of so much and didn't tell me even more. It's only recently I even got to know and meet my biological father, who is part Mexican. On top of growing up in predominantly Hispanic neighborhoods and on the outskirts of the community, I have such a deep respect for the culture and.. it's hard to explain. I've always felt a pull towards the culture and practices for a reason unknown to me but now that I've learned more from my father.. it's just like something's clicked into place. Like I found a lost puzzle piece and I want to deepen my connection.
Maybe I'm overstepping, and I deeply apologize if I am, but the more I learn about these practices, the more things make sense to me.
