Our favorite artist/work of the week: Sterling Gerry‘s sculptures @falseflagprojects @untitledartfair. These sculptures will “save your life” in the case of an apocaliptic scenario. Each work is attached to a publicly-traded industry stock: N.A.N.O. comes with 100 shares of stock in a nanotechnology company, B.I.O., biotechnology, I.N.F.O., informatics, & C.O.G.N.O., cognitive research. Small screens track the price of each. If separated, these structures will track each other: GPS monitors display the location of their counterparts at all times. A Lifesaver jerry can (a water filter that enables a family of four to survive for two years) & emergency food rations anchor the sculptures.
