My Life in Music - Year 12
If you’ve not picked up on this yet, let me tell you that I’m a bit of an odd duck. I’ve a strange sense of humor and I’m just a total dork.
There isn’t much in the way of mainstream music that really fits this niche of eclectic music taste, clever lyrics, and just dorky humor, but damn if Jason Mraz doesn’t.
I listened to “Waiting for My Rocket to Come” until I had memorized every word of every song on the album.
The instrumentation and rap/speak/sing vocals of “Curbside Prophet” (not to mention the lyrics themselves) just really appealed to me. Even now, 13 years later, I still remember almost all of the words to this song.
Let’s see...I would have been in sixth grade. I don’t remember sharing the interest in this song with many of my peers, but that’s nothing new.
