What is my curl pattern? The best way I can describe my hair is "it forms little curl tubes" because I really have small slinky noodle tubes growing out of my head

Is my curl type 3a?

Confession: I don't really know my hair type or curl pattern. I wish I did but my curls are all messed up from when my mother and I used to chemically loosen my curls with relaxers. Now I'm 17 and some of my curls look like they're 3a, some look 3b, and some even look 3c. I have no idea what type of products to use in my hair or what type of hair styles would be best for me considering I don't know anybody with the same hair. Does anyone have any suggestions? Or the same problem I have?

To really find out what your curl pattern is, you'll need to get rid of the chemically damaged parts. That means cutting your hair. Let your hair grow out - I'd suggest transitioning with protective styles (like weaves or braids, for example), but first - get rid of the hair that's been damaged by chemicals! It's really the only way. 

And what's more important than finding out your curl type is your hair density and porosity and, above all, having healthy hair!!

People stressing about curl type:

Honestly, the shit doesn't matter. From the time you transition, grow out heat-damaged hair, then have short hair, medium length hair, long hair, your hair is going to look like so many different textures, it's not even funny. I didn't figure out my curl type until a year or so after doing a big chop.

To this day....I've found that curl type, curl pattern really doesn't matter. So don't lose your mind over it.
