a/n: This is out to all my curly hair babies including me, so if you guys EVER want me to do headcannons of a tighter curl pattern lmk!!
-Max is obsessed with your hair. The first time you told him you had a whole routine—wash day, leave-in, mousse, diffusing—he stared at you and went, “Your hair has a schedule?” Now he asks, “Is today wash day?” like it’s a national holiday.
-He loves when your curls are freshly washed. He’ll bury his face in your hair and dramatically sigh, “You smell so good.” You have to remind him not to mess them up because he absolutely will.
-Max learned very quickly that he cannot just run his fingers through your curls. The first time he did it, you gasped like he’d committed a crime.;
“Max!”
“What?!”
“You separated the curl clumps!”
Now he asks permission every single time.
-He secretly thinks your bonnet is adorable. The first time he saw you put it on before bed, he blinked.;
“Babe you genuinely look so cute in your little bonnet!”
“You’re just saying that cause I look like a grandma.”
“Well then to YOUR analogy, a very cute grandma heh..”
You threw a pillow at him and finally go to bed.
-Humidity is his enemy. If your curls start frizzing because it’s hot outside, Max is immediately offended on your behalf.;
“Why is the weather attacking you?”
“It’s just humidity.”
“I’m gonna fight it.”
“I love you Max, but I don’t think that’s possible baby.”
-He absolutely hypes you up on good hair days without a fail, every single time he sees you step out of your shared bathroom he instantly starts the compliments.
-If you complain about your hair shrinking, Max genuinely doesn’t understand.
“But it’s cute.”
“Max, it was down to here yesterday!”
“Okay, but now it’s fluffy.”
“You’re not helping.”
“I think I’m helping a lot.”
-He loves playing with the curls that frame your face. Especially when you’re watching a movie together. He’ll gently wrap one around his finger and smile when it springs back.
“How does it do that?”
“Physics.”
“Magic.”
-He takes candid pictures of you constantly. Especially when the sunlight hits your curls just right. You’ll hear:

“Max!”
“What?”
“Delete that!”
He looks at the photo.
Smiles.
“Absolutely not.”
-If he ever posts you online, everyone immediately notices your hair. The comments are full of:
“HER CURLS OMG”
“They’re so cute together.”
“Max won at life.”
He reads every comment with the biggest grin.
-He definitely calls your curls nicknames.
Cloud hair.
Princess curls.
Angel hair.
Which is cute… Until he says:
“My little ramen noodle.”
You don’t speak to him for an hour.
-When you’re insecure about your hair, Max notices immediately. If you mention wanting straighter hair or say your curls are being difficult, he’ll frown.
“Why?”
“Because they’re messy.”
“They’re you.”
He says it so simply.
Like it’s obvious.
Like he can’t imagine you looking any other way.
-At the end of the day, Max thinks your curls are one of the prettiest things about you. Not because they’re always perfect. Not because they’re always defined. But because they’re yours. Whether they’re big and fluffy, freshly styled, frizzy from humidity, or hidden under a bonnet at 2 a.m., he’ll look at you with the same lovestruck smile and think:
“Yeah.”
“That’s my girl.”
