📊 GBP/NZD Forecast 2026–2028: Major Banks Expect the Pound to Weaken
GBP/NZD is trading near 2.35 after gaining almost 4% in June and reaching its strongest level in nearly a year.
However, the latest survey shows that all participating banks expect the pair to decline over the next 12–18 months.
Forecasts for late 2027:
• Westpac and UBS: approximately 2.22–2.27 • ANZ and BNZ: approximately 2.10–2.13 • Overall forecast range: 2.09–2.27
A relatively restrictive Reserve Bank of New Zealand policy and a possible recovery in commodity-linked currencies could support the Kiwi. Meanwhile, uncertainty surrounding UK growth, inflation and Bank of England policy may limit Sterling’s medium-term potential.
For anyone planning to purchase New Zealand Dollars, the current GBP/NZD rate may offer a favourable opportunity. Nevertheless, further short-term gains in the Pound cannot be ruled out.
