Impossibilities (CA Closed | Khadgar)
Snowdrift’s jaw dropped when he saw the price of the materials he’d brought up to the service desk. Tanned oxhide was hard to come by anywhere, yes, but he’d been assured that this would be a deal…except it was apparently going to be at Snowdrift’s expense. The cost of the indigo ink also exceeded Snowdrift’s ideas for what might be considered ‘reasonable’, to say nothing of the metal buckles and other embellishments.
“This price is ridiculous.” Snowdrift snapped at the shopkeeper. He was the only person in the store, but heaven itself wasn’t going to stop him from speaking his mind. “You are overcharging me by a factor of at least six.”
The doors opened and Snowdrift blinked as he caught sight of a white-haired figure, one he didn’t immediately recognize. This was a common state of affairs – humans did tend to look very similar, particularly ones he had met. He looked back to the shopkeeper and glared fiercely. “Sir, you are charging me far too much, and if you are trying to extort me, your ‘jest’ is in extremely poor taste.” Snowdrift gritted between his teeth.
