†— She would be lying if she said she didn't love Scott. There had always been a part of her that had loved him, ever since Matt, Scott, and Caroline had become The Three Amigos. Yet, it had always been platonic love ; the kind of love you hold in your heart strictly for your best friend. This wouldn't be the first time platonic love had grown into something more. It did it at first with Matt, and while it was difficult to accept a second time after she lost her husband, for fear it might insult his memory in some way, she needed to realize that it wasn't that at all. Wouldn't Matt want the two of them to be happy? There was a time when she would have mistaken Scott's words. They had only told each other they loved one another as friends, and it had generally been during life's big moments : anytime he was deployed, or during graduation. There would have been a time where she would have taken it as any other I love you moment, but there was something very different with this one. The addition of the word 'in' was a game changer. She hadn't been expecting it in that moment, but it wasn't a surprise. How could it have been after he came home? Something had changed when she wasn't even paying attention. Maybe it happened after all those nights she had been trying to help soothe him due to the PTSD he had been quietly developing without telling her, or maybe it had started to occur even before then. Either way, she knew things were different now. She could either accept that, or continue to pretend it wasn't there. And honestly, she was tired. Tired of pretending. So instead, she reached forward, her tiny arms looping around his and held onto him —— clung onto him, even. Her words were a little muffled into his shirt, but they were still audible. "I know. I think I've known for awhile. And I hope you've known too." Meaning she hopes he's known that she loves him too.

Character in general: ACTUAL SUNSHINE SCOTT MCCALL! oh my god i could talk for ages about scott, and i would, but i feel like if i word vomit about the glory that is scott mccall, i might piss off some people on my dash.How they play them: acey's portrayal of scott is so close to canon that i have to take a double take sometimes. she's such a great scott roleplayer, and is a joy to write with. The Mun: she's a butt, but she's one of my besties. so she's a best butt.
