Why not Juste for the ask game!
How I feel about this character: GREAT Belmont. I'm very fond of him, and his game has been one of my favorites to actually play so far - though I'm sure that could change as I play more of the games. He's such a unique guy in his family, and I love the contrast of his more elegant looks with his kind of reckless way of speech, and his little comments on the furniture items that reveals he thinks of FUTON as the king of all beds.
All the people I ship romantically with this character: Maxim and Lydie... while I'm ultimately more partial to Juste/Maxim, just because their dynamic is soooo so fundamental heart of the game, I am like. INSANELY partial to Lydie due to knowing someone who rp'd as her in a multifandom rp I was once in, who was one of my other early introductions to Castlevania and who did Lydie soooo much justice. So I am always invested in her happiness and if white hair magical boy is what she wants then she can go get it I think. Or they could form a trio, that's always fun
My non-romantic OTP for this character: Maxim and Lydie again... Again!! The Heart of the game is their relationships with each other and everything that happens is because all of them care so much about each other. Platonic or romantic, their relationships are just so so important... I also really like to think about him as Richter's dad, which feeds into...
My unpopular opinion about this character: I don't know HOW unpopular this is but he can very easily be Richter's dad without altering the timeline at all. Let the man be in his 40s having a kid, it feels so rare to see older people becoming new parents but AS someone whose parents were older when they had me, it isn't impossible!!
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: Uhhh uhh hm. Maybe Richter reunion... since he's not confirmed as Richter's dad or anything there's no reason to have it, but ohhhh the tasty angst of first your boy best friend and now your kid being possessed. The emotions he'd have to be going through. the being unable to prevent it either the first time or now; if this is the best ending, the sickening realization that for all Maxim did, the cycle still could not end with you.
