Oh Cherry lovely you made me cry!!! I can’t believe it’s actually over, what are we all going to do with ourselves now?

I was so happy reading every word, I’m glad that everyone go the happy ending that they deserved. Including the Slytherins! They’re unfairly left out in a lot of fics so it’s really nice to see them get their happy ending, especially with how integral they were to the story.

The reader getting postcards from Anders is so sweet omg, and when the reader dedicated their research to the Fiskes it was so nice. Remembering how mad I was when Anders wanted to take all the credit for the findings to them refusing to be mentioned- that’s character growth! They definitely deserved that dedication note.

It’s also so sweet seeing Sirius living his domestic life of losing his mind over wardrobe instruction manuals, after all he’s been through he deserves a life where that’s his only problem! And the lion table cracked me up he is SUCH a Gryffindor.

And of course my babies! Reader and Regulus living the dream life! If Reggie deserves anything it’s to live a quiet life in a beach house with a pretty flower garden, and I’m glad he gets that! I’m also happy to see that the two are still so sickly in love with each other, we love to see it!

And oh- oh my god- Cherry you simultaneously broke and healed my heart in one go with that note. I remember having to stop reading for a few minutes when I first read Reggie’s diary entry asking what love felt like because I needed to cry but then he gets to fall in love! And he gets to tell his younger self ‘hey! It’s gonna be okay! You’ll get there one day!’ He’s just achieved so much and I’m so proud of him and omg I’m so in love with this fic.

I’ve said it a few times lately but I really do hope you’re proud of yourself for this fic, the time, effort and care that you put into it shines through every word you write and it’s created a truly beautiful and distinctive story that I and a lot of others will remember for a long time to come. Thank you for bringing us this incredible story and I really look forward to what you bring us next! <3

Thank you so much for everything <33. I can't believe that it's over either, and it is so strange that I no longer have to sit down and write a new chapter ! I really have such a soft spot for the Slytherin group, and they truly deserved their happy ending !

And yesss, the postcard!! I honestly was really debating on where I wanted the Fiske's to be, and somehow settled for the states LOL. Anders‘ character arc is something to behold, and I'm feeling a bit sad that we have to say goodbye to our grumpy mentor.

Sirius is kind of a mess, but at least he's trying!! Harry is definitely in charge of sifting through Sirius‘ questionable furniture choices, and he's right, where would they put a lion table??

Reggie and reader deserve their little beach home so much <333. They definitely lived happily ever after, and I perhaps am guilty of making their property a reflection of what I desire for myself. Sigh, I am going to miss those lovesick fools </3

Reggie's diary entry was heartbreaking to write, so I could not imagine how it must have felt to read it! I know it hurt everyone, so of course I had to make the ending super sweet with a sprinkle of poet!Regulus. Regulus‘ inner child is healing with every passing day, and I am going to pretend that this happy ending is canon for the actual HP universe.

You have truly been one of my greatest motivators on this blog, so I just want to thank YOU, because you are truly so amazing!! I am so happy with the final result of the story, but I am even more overjoyed with the connections and interactions I've had throughout the journey here! It has been my honor to write this story, and it has been the greatest gift to have you shower me with kind words. I hope that you will enjoy what's to come, lovely <333. Thank you!

Cherry darling you’ve done it again! You can really feel the tension building in this chapter as things are so fast paced and engaging!

As always Contessa Zabini on her queen shit and Luna being the loml (just their default modes tbh). And reader/Harry interactions again! They have such sibling energy I love how close they are. Also- Harry just casually dropping that they’re going to start the battle of Hogwarts on the reader as if it’s old news plsss he’s so funny.

Sirius being the protective cool uncle is making every one of my dreams come true he’s such a dork. The way he threatened his OWN baby brother to look after his adopted kid he’s sooo funny.

Speaking of the baby Black,,,. Regulus!!!!! Literally marry rn !!!!!!! He is so sweet in this chapter. Everything he does makes my heart melt, him providing support to the reader through their story, squabbling with Sirius over who’s the better looking brother, and him cuddling and pouting to the reader about his nickname- he’s the man of my dreams omg

I’m stuck in two for the next chapter, on one hand I wanna read it right now so I can see more of this story but I also don’t want it to come yet because I don’t want this masterpiece to end!! You really have done such an incredible job on this story and you should be so proud of yourself <3

Contessa Zabini is really just the most magnificent woman ever, and I always love having Luna linger around for reader because I fully believe she is the best friend ever !! Reader/Harry interactions are almost always chaotic, and you are absolutely right, they have the most precious sibling bond!! Reader definitely threatened to curb stomp the Dursley's at one point in time (canon bc yes) after Harry opened up about them.

Sirius is literally the best uncle ever, and he is so so so proud of his adopted kiddos <33. The Black Brothers are truly my Achilles heel and they are 100% the biggest support system for reader ! Sigh...what a cute little family.

Sleepy Regulus literally makes my heart melt because he just has no filter and allows himself to get lost in his desire for affection !!

I feel the same way about the next chapter!! I really cannot believe that it's coming to an end so soon! This series has been a RIDE, and I could have never expected the feedback I've gotten so far, but I have loved every single interaction! Thank you so much for your constant love and support, my dear! Ouch Cherry that blurb hurt! It was beautifully written and the twist was not what I was expecting at all going into it. I loved the almost poetic way that the reader and Reggie spoke to each other. But oh the angstttt, my heartttt, I could only accept this pain from your writing <3

Every single word of this chapter had me vibrating in my seat I am going into hyperdrive over here!!!!!

My Reggie boy is so perfect and wonderful and the loml omgggg. Like we thought he was sweet as a portrait???? And now full body Reg is literally just a cat the way he practically drapes himself over the reader at any given moment. They’re in love your honour!!!

Leaving Asger and Anders was v bittersweet, I’m going to miss their dry humour and their reluctant fondness for the reader and Luna but I’m v v happy to know that they’re on their way to healing from the loss of their mother/wife. Again the parallels between Anders and the reader was great to see and I’ve always been a sucker for the grumpy old man/adopted child that they would die for lol

And at last!!!! The man, the myth, the legend Sirius Black is back everyone!!! And his single brain cell is working on OVERDRIVE atm I love him sm. The way he was so excited to see his pup that he didn’t even compute that his DECEASED BROTHER was stood next to him had me screaming like he’s trying his best just give him a minute shdjdjd

Honestly I couldn’t tell you how many times I screamed while reading this chapter, the way you smothered us with fluff while also keeping the stakes high is just amazing and now that the gang is all back together I’m so excited to see what’s to come. Thank you for blessing us with this masterpiece as always <3

I honestly didn't expect myself to grow so attached to Anders & Asger / the whole Norway arc in general. It is definitely bittersweet, and the parallels kill me too !! They all really needed each other in the end, and even though they're separated now, they will hold each other dear in their hearts for the rest of their lives (canon, because I said so <3).

Also LOL, Sirius and his tunnel vision for his pup <333. He really was just an anxious mess after reader never turned up after the wedding attack. But his poor heart, first reader swoops back into his life, and then his supposedly dead brother magically appears! Yeah, the man is going to have the time of his life next chapter.

The gang is reunited and better than ever <33! I am already elbow-deep into writing the next chapter which I hope to finish by tomorrow (can you tell I'm as excited as everyone else?)

I can’t believe you’ve done it! Honestly what an incredible story you’ve put together for us all. Every single chapter has been written so beautifully, so well paced, so engaging, you can really see all the time and effort you put into all of it.

I can’t believe it’s actually done! I’m still on the edge of my seat to see what the epilogue has for us of course but the way you’ve ended it here is so satisfying! I’m so so glad you kept Fred and my Remus alive I rly don’t know what I’d do without them lol. And finally having reg and the reader say they love each other AND a kiss?! We truly are spoiled!

Seriously though you should be so proud of yourself for this story, it’s absolutely one of my favourite fanfics of all time (and I’ve read a lot lol). I’m definitely going to come back and re-read it all at one point. Thank you for your amazing writing!!!! <3

I honestly can't believe I finished the series LOL, I've never had the commitment for a long work like Second Son. The epilogue will definitely be an adventure to write, and I'm already getting misty-eyed thinking about the end!! I always knew that Fred would live in the end, but Remus was kind of a coin toss (Snape was a definitive death though)! Luckily, my soft heart won out, and both of them get to continue their journeys <3. Regulus and Reader kissing (TWICE) was definitely a process to write because I am very much a newbie when it comes to tooth-rotting affection haha. I'm so glad that you enjoyed it all though!!

Eeeeeeeee everyone say thank you Cherry for this masterpiece!!! This by far is my favourite chapter of the series I can’t even put into words how excited this has me.

Where do I even begin?! As always the magical essence and runes work is so so so interesting, the way you describe the rituals and the way that the magic interacts with the characters and the environment is just off the charts, it’s like I’m physically there watching it happen it’s out of this world.

Again the character interactions between Anders and Luna and the reader really warms my heart I love the dynamics between them all (can we also bring attention to the reader calling Luna ‘little moon’ HELLO??? My heart exploded fr)

And of course !!!!!! My boy!!!!! My love!!!!!! Reggie’s back babyyyyyyy!!!!! I have a feeling there’s gonna be a smidge of angst in their reunion but GOD I can’t wait for these idiots in love to meet each other for real!!!

I have to say that this chapter is absolutely one of my favorites as well (which I don't say lightly)! Doing the rune work and ritual lore was super fun for me, and I'm always happy to see how readers follow along with the lore <3!! I tried my best to be super descriptive about how reader perceives the different magics, and it seems like I accomplished my goal!!

I am 100% a Luna stan until the day I die, and she just deserves the cute little nickname. I was initially really hesitant to have Anders (or an OC in general) play such a big part in the story, so I'm over the moon to see that he is being received well !!

Custard, you just know me so well. There will be a little bit of hesitation in their reunion (which I have already written in the flurry of my excitement), but trust me when I say that everyone will enjoy how these touch-starved idiots reunite next chapter!

Aaaaaaaa what an amazing chapter!!! My heart is stuck in this bittersweet sort of ache, I’m so pumped because we’re learning so much about magical essence and soul magic and it’s all so so interesting but then you had to rip my heart out with the line “I wonder what falling in love feels like” PLS that hurt SO BAD.

Contessa Zabini is absolutely iconic and also just a lil bit terrifying, I love seeing the quirks that Blaise gets from her. And Luna is the absolute love of my life, I adore that you’ve made her a seer that’s always been a big head canon of mine!

Amazing update as alwaysss. I just love the way you write the different relationships between different characters, like how they interact with the reader and how the relationship brings out their personalities- if that makes sense. Like how the reader brings out Sirius’ protective side and also his playful side.

I also thought your description of the reader’s grief was awesome! The way it renders them paralysed/mute, it’s really realistic and sympathetic it’s great.

Hi custard :))!! Thank you so much <33!! I love building upon the relationships sm! With Blaise it came very easily because there is just so much room to explore his personality, and I really wanted to tie in the growth of Sirius as a character by how he interacts with the reader. Since he didn't die and was "healed" in a sense by the ritual, I feel like it was a great launching point for him to recover mentally from Azkaban and become a more present guardian figure for not only Harry, but the reader as well!

Reader's grief took a bit of work since I wasn't sure how intense/how big of a conflict I wanted it to be in the storyline, but I'm quite happy with what I went with, so thank you for your kind words <333!!
