I’ve been sitting on this idea for a while. The process for making these was very satisfying and it kept me from getting too careless as far as putting things together. The blue dumpster plaque will be available for the @3bearsgayming art auction on August 30 and all funds will go to the Trevor Project and NAACP. I’m excited to lend a hand in this endeavor, we’re all hurting right now especially and need to lift each other up. I hope to remember this as I move forward through the remainder of 2020. The second dumpster went to one of my roommates. The Hugo Awards are one of the biggest for Science Fiction writers. Each year, the iconic metal rockets remain the same (produced by a company in the UK) and artists design a special base for it. This year the designer was Sara Felix, a clay and resin artist. Artifacture helped make the rest a reality. The Red Oak was deeply laser engraved, then Sara installed copper rings and poured colored resin. Artifacture sanded it all flush, covered it in clear epoxy, and installed metal standoffs and a clear acrylic top to hold the rocket.
